It took the Carroll offense a little while to get going but the Tigers scored 10-runs over the final 3 innings, advancing into the Regional Semifinal at Humboldt on Saturday night. The Tigers out hit Storm Lake 12 to 3 and took advantage of a few throwing errors in the 4th and 5th inning to build a 6-0 lead. The runner on 3rd tried to score and Camryn Schable threw it to Parker Adams, who tagged the runner out at the plate.

Carroll had a chance to grab a lead with the bases loaded in the 1st inning with 1 out but an interference call, ended the threat and Carroll didn’t score. Storm Lake packed the bases in the 2nd inning with 2 outs but Ava Gross made a nice play up the middle and Carroll got the force out at 2nd base to end the inning. The Tigers struck first in the 4th inning. Josie Ayala, Carmyn Schable and Averi Burke all singled with Burke driving in Ayala, Schable scored on a Storm Lake throwing error that allowed Burke to move to 3rd and Burke then scored on another throwing error, all on the same play. Carroll added 3 more runs in the 5th inning, Brielle Hinners walked, Ava Gross sacrificed her to 2nd with a good bunt, Vanessa Ayala singled before Josie Ayala singled, scoring a pair of runs.
