Kuemper had a runner on base in every inning, but was unable to squeeze a run across the board as they fell in their first game at the Carlisle tournament. Van Meter out hit the Knights 12 to 2, using a pair of doubles and singles in the 2nd inning to take a 4-0 lead. The Bulldogs added a home run in the 3rd innings, then scored 2-runs in the 4th with a pair of singles, a fielders choice and a Kuemper error. The game ended after the 6th inning due to time constraints.

Hailey Ostrander was hit-by-pitch to lead off the game but was thrown out at 3rd, later in the inning. Kaylie Diercksen doubled in the 2nd inning but was stranded at 2nd base. Kenzie Schon walked in the 4th and Kenadee Loew walked in the 6th, right after Schon had singled. The Knights stranded 3 runners on base.

Kaylie Diercksen double and Kenzie Schon single were the Knights 2 hits. Kamryn Venner took the loss, going 5 innings, allowing 12 hits and 4 earned runs.

Melinda Schaefer walked and scored in the top of the 1st inning on a base hit by Kenzie Schon as the Knights grabbed an early lead, but Carlisle responded scoring 4-runs in the 1st inning and 2nd inning. Kuemper looked to rally in the 3rd inning, getting a leadoff single by Hailey Ostrander and a single by Melinda Schaefer. Kenzie Schon batted in Ostrander and Kenadee Loew walked but the Knights weren’t able to push a second run across the board. A Kamryn Venner single in the 4th was the Knights only other hit the rest of the game.

Hailey Ostrander, Melinda Schaefer, Kenadee Loew and Kamryn Venner all singled for the Knights with Ostrander and Schaefer scoring and Kenzie Schon and Loew picking up an RBI apiece. Chloe Venteicher pitched, going 4 2/3 innings, allowing 8 hits and 5 earned runs.

The Knights fall to 21-15 on the season and will host Earlham in the post season on Wednesday on KCIM.
