Brincks Exteriors Sports Report: Three Area Baseball Teams Win on Friday- Full Scoreboard

Baseball Results Friday, June 24th 

West Bend Mallard At East Sac

East Sac won their second straight, scoring a pair of runs in the bottom of the 5th inning. The Raiders collected 10 hits, with 3 hits in the bottom 5th when they regained the lead after West Bend Mallard tied the game in the top half. East Sac out hit West Bend Mallard 10-7, helping them build a 4-3 lead heading into the 5th. West Bend Mallard scored a run in the top half to tie the game at 4. The win improves East Sac to 2-9 overall and 2-7 in the Twin Lakes Conference.

Luke Wernimont singled to start the 5th inning, stole 2nd base and eventually scored on an error. Luke Wright singled and scored their 6th run of the game on a base hit by Aden Vondrak. Aden Vondrak singled in the first as the Raiders scored 3 times in the bottom half. He scored their first run of the game. Karter Ludwig singled and scored and Preston Mauer singled and scored in the 1st inning. Luke Wernimont drove in a run and Logan Schroeder singled.  Weston Drost walked and scored for East Sac in the 3rd inning on a single by Luke Wernimont.

The Raiders had three players with 2 hits each, with Luke Wernimont driving in a pair of runs and scoring a run. Aden Vondrak scored once and drove in a run and Preston Mauer scored a run. Weston Drost won on the mound,  going 4 innings, allowing 3 hits and 2 earned runs with 3 strikeouts.

The Raiders travel to Pocahontas Area on Wednesday.

Mark Lensch had the lone hit for the Wildcats as they fell on the road. Caden Wenck was their other baserunner, having been hit-by-pitch. The Cougars stayed a game behind Coon Rapids Bayard in the conference race as they scored twice in the 1st inning, then 6 more times in the 2nd. They extended the lead to 12 with 4-runs in the 4th inning.

The loss drops the Wildcats to 3-15 overall and 3-11 in the Rolling Valley Conference. They travel to Whiting on Monday.

IKM-Manning lost in a pitchers dual on Friday. The Wolves were out hit 3-1, but got a few guys on base but weren’t able to stretch any hits together. They hit the ball well, but it was right at the Vikings defense. AHSTW used their three hits well, moving runners with sac bunts and stealing bases at opportunistic times to score a run in 4th, 5th and 6th innings.

Lane Sams had the only Wolves hit while Brody Blom was hit-by-pitch and Red Hinners was walked. Sams was also hit-by-pitch as the Wolves had four baserunners. Lane Sams took the loss, going 5 1/3 innings, allowing 3 hits and 2 earned runs with 3 strikeouts.

IKM-Manning falls to 7-12 overall and 5-10 in the Western Iowa Conference. IKM-Manning hosts Exira-EHK on Monday.

The game got away from Audubon in the bottom 6th inning. They had tied the game at 6 in the top 4th inning but Tri Center exploded for 9-runs in the bottom half to open the game up. The Wheelers had two home runs among their four hits in the game.  Audubon scored a run in the top 1st, then added 4-runs in the 2nd inning. Tri Center scored 2-runs in the 1st inning and 3 more in the 2nd inning as both offenses were hot early.

Gavin Smith and Gavin Larsen both hit 2-run home runs for the Wheelers. Smith finished with a pair of hits, and scored 3 times. Larsen had 2 RBI and scored once. Braden Wessel doubled and drove in a run.

The loss drops the Wheelers to 11-9 overall and 9-7 in the WIC. They host Bedford on Monday.

The Rockets had their offense going, picking up 11 hits and scoring 11-runs. They had eight players with at least one hit and two with multi hit games. The game was tight early, tied at 1 going into the 3rd inning. Ar-We-Va got rolling at that point, scoring 5-runs in the 3rd inning and then scoring 4-runs in the 5th inning. Blayne Smith and Wyatt Ragaller combined to allow 5 hits and 1 earned run on the mound. Will Ragaller had 3 hits and a scored twice. Blayne Smith added 2 hits and scored a run. Cooper Kock and Damon Ehlers tripled. Kock drove in a pair of runs and Ehlers scored once. Wyatt Ragaller earned the win, throwing 4 innings, allowing 5 hits and 1 earned run while striking out 6. Blayne Smith pitched 3 innings, allowing 2 hits.

Ar-We-Va improves to 5-11 overall and 4-10 in the RVC. They host West Harrison on Monday.

The Titans played well and were within striking distance until late, trailing 3-0 into the 5th inning. The Jaguars scored 3 times in the 5th to separate themselves. South Central Calhoun finished with 4 hits but only allowed 6 hits, getting a solid pitching performance from Charlie Nattress and Carson Shaver as they combined to allow 5 earned  runs with 6 strikeouts.

Kaden Dorman, Andrew Anderson, Brock Nattress and Jacob Kalkwarf all singled. Charlie Nattress went 4 innings, allowing 4 hits, and 3 earned runs with 4 strikeouts. Carson Shaver pitched 3 innings, allowing 2 hits and 2 earned runs.

The loss drops the Titans to 5-10 overall and 3-7 in the TLC. They host Emmetsburg on Monday.

Coon Rapids Bayard continues to control their own destiny in the Rolling Valley Conference, picking up a huge conference road win. The win keeps them 1 game up on CAM Anita and puts them 3 games in front of Woodbine. The Crusaders struck quickly, scoring 4-runs in the 1st inning, then adding a pair of runs in the 3rd, 4th and 6th innings. They out hit Woodbine 11 to 3, having six players with at least one hit and three players with two or more. Easton Hays and Tanner Oswald combined to allow 3 hits while striking out 4.

Preston McAlister and Kolby Culbertson both had 3 hits, McAlister had 3 RBI and Culbertson doubled and drove in a pair of runs. Easton Hays doubled and scored twice. Lance Clayburg had a pair of hits and scored 4-runs, he also stole 3 bases. Gabe Obert doubled, drove in a run and scored twice. Easton Hays got the win, going 5 innings, allowing 3 hits and striking out 2. Tanner Oswald finished up the final inning on the hill, striking out 2.

Coon Rapids Bayard improved to 21-3 overall and 14-0 in the RVC. They play Ankeny Centennial at Johnston Middle School in the Brent Prange Classic on Saturday.
