Max Nielsen struck out 12 and IKM-Manning used 9 hits to build a 5-0 lead and picked up a win on Thursday. The pitching dual between Nielsen and Gavin Smith was really good as both pitchers worked quickly and threw strikes. The Wolves struck first in the 3rd inning, Lane Sams singled, Max Nielsen walked and Reed Hinners singled to score both runners. IKM-Manning had stranded 3 guys on base through the first two innings. Meanwhile the Wheelers offense missed some chances early. They had 2 runners on base in the 1st inning, helped by a pair of Wolves errors but couldn’t get the timely hit against Max Nielsen. IKM-Manning made its final error to lead off the 2nd inning but Audubon stranded a runner on 3rd. The Wolves stretched the lead in the 6th when Brody Blom was hit-by-pitch with 2 outs. Lane Sams walked and Max Nielsen drove in a run with a single. Treyton Barry reached on an error, then Reed Hinners singled to drive in the final run. Braden Wessel singled for Audubon in the bottom 6th but was stranded at 1st base.

The Wolves had 4 players with 2 hits in Lane Sams, Max Nielsen, Treyton Barry and Reed Hinners who finished with 3 RBI. Davis Rasmussen and Carson Woebke both scored twice. Max Nielsen went the distance, allowing 3 hits, while striking out 12.

Braden Wessel, Gavin Larsen and Cooper Nielsen had the 3 hits for Audubon. Gavin Smith went 5 2/3 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 9 hits while striking out 6.

The Wolves improve to 7-11 overall and 5-9 in the WIC. They head to AHSTW on Friday. Audubon falls to 11-8 overall and 9-6 in the WIC as they travel to Tri Center on Friday.

Carroll 5

Carlisle took advantage of some early Carroll errors, scoring 10 unearned runs on 4 Carroll errors. The Wildcats used their extra at-bats to extend innings and Carroll was forced to pitch four different players. They scored 7 runs in the 1st inning, then added 4 more in the 2nd to build a comfortable lead. They would put the game away in the 5th with 6 more runs. Carroll kept battling scoring 3 in the 2nd and 2 more in the 4th. The Tigers finished with 4 hits but managed to score 5-runs though they left 8 guys on base.

Cooper Ludwig got Carroll on the board with an RBI single in the 2nd inning, Evan Loew walked with the bases loaded and Ryan North was able to score on a wild pitch. Ludwig started the rally again in the 4th, scoring on a wild pitch. Stone Sibenaller followed that with a sac fly.

Cooper Ludwig, Ethan Loew, Ryan North and Bryton Treadway all had a hit for the Tigers. Ludwig and North scored twice  while Evan Loew and Ludwig drove in  a run.
