East Sac At Carroll High

Carroll improved to 10-3 in non-conference games on Tuesday, scoring the final 12 runs in a win over East Sac. The Raiders scored first, leading 2-0 early but struggled defensively with 3 errors and walked 13 batters, helping Carroll extend innings. The Tigers took the lead for good with 3-runs in the bottom 1st. Carroll finished with 8 hits and left 8 girls on base. East Sac had 7 hits and left 5 runners on base. Camryn Schable was solid in the circle for Carroll, walking only 2 Raiders.

Emersyn Mack singled to lead off the game for the Raiders, then stole 2nd and 3rd base, scoring on a passed ball. Meredith  Brown singled and scored on a single by Jamie Pierce as the Raiders had 4 singles in the 1st inning and lead 2-0. Carroll responded in the bottom half, Parker Adams and Brielle Hinners both walked, Ava Gross reached on an error and Josie Ayala singled, driving in a run. Vanessa Ayala doubled to score two and Carroll led 3-2 after the 1st. Carroll added a run in the 2nd inning, then opened the game up with 4-runs in the 3rd inning. Averi Burke singled, driving in a run, Emma Kuhlmann and Parker Adams each had an RBI on a sac fly and Brielle Hinners singled to drive in a run. Camryn Schable singled to drive in a run to highlight a 3-run 4th inning. Carroll led 11-2 heading into the 5th inning. Josie Ayala walked and scored on a line drive down the third base line by Vanessa Ayala to end the game.

Vanessa Ayala and Josie Ayala each had 2 hits for Carroll. Vanessa had a team high 3 RBI and Josie scored 3 times. Brielle Hinners scored twice and stole 3 bases. Olivia Rowedder scored twice and stole 3 bases. Camryn Schable won in the circle, going 5 innings, allowing 7 hits and 2 earned runs with 3 strikeouts.

Meredith Brown and Maci Gustavson each had 2 hits for East Sac. Brown scored once. Jamie Pierce drove in a run while Emersyn Mack singled and scored and Mary Bontrager singled.

The win improves Carroll to 10-12 overall as they head to Bondurant Farrar on Wednesday. East Sac falls to 2-11 and will head to Manson NW Webster on Wednesday.

Atlantic At Kuemper

Kuemper started quickly and cruised to another win in the Hawkeye 10. They scored 3-runs in both the 1st and 2nd innings. The Knights out hit Atlantic 8-2 as Kamryn Venner kept their bats under control all night.

Kenzie Schon drove in a pair of runs in the 1st inning with a double, then scored on a base hit from Kenadee Loew. A Melinda Schaefer double drove in Kamryn Venner and Hailey Ostrander who had both singled. Schaefer scored on a single by Jordan Schwabe. The Knights bats went cold until the 6th inning. They didn’t have a baserunner until the 6th when Kaylie Diercksen singled and then scored on a ground out by Kaci Peter. Atlantic struggled to string anything together against Venner, getting a runner on in the 1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th innings, two runners on in the 4th and 7th innings. They had back to back runners reach base in the 7th inning only and only had two baserunners to 2nd base or beyond.

Jordan Schwabe led the  Knights offense with 2 hits. Hailey Ostrander scored a pair of runs, Melinda Schafer doubled and had 2 RBI. Kenzie Schon doubled and drove in a pair of runs. Kamryn Venner went all 7 innings, allowing 2 hits and striking out 7.

The Knights improve to  14-12 overall and 10-4 in the Hawkeye 10 Conference. They will complete their suspended game with Lewis Central on Saturday, then host their tournament.

Sophie Jackson singled in the 5th inning, scoring Jamie Hausman and Kora Obrecht and Ar-We-Va held on for a nice road win on Tuesday. Amber Ragaller and the Rockets defense did the rest. Ragaller allowed 6 hits as the Rockets out hit the Bulldogs 7 to 6, holding them to just 1 run. The Rocket defense had their best game of the season, committing no errors.

Ar-We-Va got hits from Jamie Hausman, Maggie Ragaller, Sophie Jackson, Delaney Schurke, Emma Lieting, Amber Ragaller and Karime Sanchez. Amber Ragaller went all 7 innings, allowing 1 earned run with 3 strikeouts and 6 hits.

The win improved the Rockets to 3-9 overall and 3-8 in the RVC. They host Woodbine on Wednesday.

The Crusaders scored in all 5 innings, highlighted by an 8-run 5th inning. The Crusaders scored 5 times in the 2nd inning and 4 more in the 4th inning. Eight different players had a hit with six players having multi hit games.

Anna Hart and Malia Clayburg had home runs, Emma Hart, Anna Hart and Bridget Shirbroun each had 3 hits. The Crusaders improve to 11-7 overall and 8-3 in the RVC. They host Whiting on Wednesday.

Audubon continues to play well against the top teams in the conference, but falls short again, losing by 3, after getting out hit 7-4. The Panthers scored a run in the 2nd and another in the 4th inning. Then extended the lead to 4-0 with a pair of runs in the 5th. Audubon rally in the 7th fell just short. Addie Hocker singled in the 7th and scored on a single to right field by Victoria Asmus. Asmus would be stranded on base when the game ended. The Wheelers left a runner on base in the 5th and two on in the 6th.

Addie Hocker continues to swing a good bat, leading the Wheelers with 2 hits. Jordan Porsch, Victoria Asmus both had base hits. Victoria Asmus drove in Addie Hocker for their run. Alexis Obermeier went 7 innings, allowing 7 hits and 2 earned runs with 4 strikeouts.

The Wheelers fell to 7-10 overall  and 3-9 in the WIC. They host Treynor on Wednesday.

Bailee Germer scored for the Wolves in their loss to Treynor. The Wolves had three girls get on base via the walk with Ella Richards, Alikxa McGinn and Germer all walked. Laura McCarville and Taylor Beckendorf both stole bases.

The Wolves fall to 2-11 overall and 2-10 in the WIC. They will play at Audubon on KIKD along with finishing a suspended game on Thursday at Audubon.
