410 Fans packed Merchants Park Wednesday as the Carroll Merchants took on the St Joseph Mustangs in a game that ended in the seventh inning.
The Mustangs were able to hit well against the quartet of Merchants pitchers, racking up 16 hits, and were walked eight times. Carroll was only able to get one runner home when Kaleb Freeman reached on a fielder’s choice and was brought in thanks to an error on St. Joseph’s part. They were also able to record four hits coming from Michael Alt, Parker Ingram, Andrew Schroeder, and Kyle Berg. The Mustangs came away after seven innings with the 15-1 win over Carroll.
The loss dropped the Merchants to 11-9 overall on the season. They continue their three-game series against St. Joseph with game two on Thursday, June 24th.
