Carroll Merchants dropped their second in a row, falling on the road for the first time this season. The Merchants fell down early, trailing 5-2 after the 3rd inning. Sedalia scored in the 1st but the Merchants tied it at 2 in the 2nd inning when Michael Alt doubled to left field, scoring Seth Christiansen and Danny Schweitzer. Sedalia scored 3 in the 3rd inning, then added a pair or runs in the 4th. The Merchants cut it to 7-4 in the 6th, scoring a pair of runs. Seth Christiansen scored on a passed ball and Michael Alt scored when Alex Schroeder walked. They had a chance to pull closer in the 7th, loading the bases but weren’t able to take advantage of a pair of Sedalia errors. They left a runner on in the 8th inning when Alex Schroeder walked.
The Merchants are 3-2 and will play at Sedalia on Tuesday.
