Carroll finally got a much needed win as they had shown moments in most of their games this season but put all together on Friday night in Rippey. The offense found a way to score in double figures on only 3 hits, They showed great patience at the plate and worked out 10 walks. Ethan Loew was outstanding on the mound, throwing a complete game, with 8 strikeouts. Carroll took the lead early with a 3-run 2nd inning, highlighted by sac fly by Chase Ragaller to drive in a run. Cooper Ludwig had scored on a balk and Dreylen Schweitzer scored on a wild pitch. Carroll stayed aggressive in the 3rd, scoring on a double steal, with Nolan Mohr breaking towards 2nd base and Cooper Ludwig coming home. Ludwig added an RBI single in the 4th and the Tigers had built a 7-1 lead. They added the final 3-runs in the 7th inning on a pair of wild pitches and a hit-by-pitch.
Ethan Loew earned the win on the hill, going 7 innings, allowing 4 hits and no earned runs with 8 strikeouts. Cooper Ludwig had a base hit and RBI. Evan Loew had a double and stole a pair of bases. Jireh Gallegos picked up an RBI and Dreylen Schweitzer had a base hit.
Carroll improves to 1-7 on the season and will host Boone on Monday.

Kuemper sent 9 guys to the plate in the 8th inning, scoring 5-runs on their way to a big road win against a Hawkeye 10 Conference opponent. They scored a pair of runs in the 6th inning to briefly take a 3-2 lead but Atlantic tied the game in the bottom half, helping send the game to extra innings. Logan Sibenaller was outstanding on the hill, keeping his team in the game as the Knights only had 4 hits through 7 innings. They would finish with 10 hits.
John Boes, who finished with 3 hits, started the 8th inning with a single. Max Irlmeier followed that with a single and Cooper Pottebaum gave Kuemper the lead with a base hit scoring Boes. Koby Lampan drove a ball to centerfield for a sac fly, scoring Irlmeier. Nate Heinrichs walked and Carter Putney singled. Logan Sibenaller singled to score Pottebaum, then Benicio Lujano singled to score two runs and Kuemper had blown the game open. Atlantic got three guys on base in the bottom 8th but a force out and a pair of strikeouts ended their threat.
John Boes led the Kuemper attack with 3 hits, including a double with 3 runs scored. Benicio Lujano drove in a pair of runs, Max Irlmeier had a pair of hits and Cooper Pottebaum drove in a pair of runs and scored once. Koby Lampman drove in a run and Carter Putney scored a run. Logan Sibenaller went 7 1/3 innings, allowing 5 hits and 2 earned runs with 5 strikeouts.
Kuemper moved to 6-2 and will host Bishop Garrigan at 10:00 on Saturday morning in the CYO tournament in Carroll.

Coon Rapids Bayard picked up a big conference win at home on Friday, dominating Woodbine in a 9-0 win. Kolby Culbertson was dominant on the hill, striking out 14 while allowing just 2 hits. The Crusader offense started slowly but got hot in the 5th inning, scoring 5 times. They finished with 9 hits with 4 of them as doubles. Coon Rapids Bayard added 3-runs in the 6th inning to end any doubt.
Kolby Culbertson was the star of the night, going all 7 innings, with 14 k’s and 2 hits. He only walked 2 batters. Lance Clayburg had a good night at the plate, collecting a pair of doubles with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored. Parker Hays added a double with 2 hits and scored twice. Cal Heydon went 2-3, with a double, RBI and scored a run.
The Crusaders improved to 7-1 and will host Bedford on Saturday morning at 11:00.

IKM-Manning won their second in a row in dominating fashion, outhitting LoMa 9-2. The Wolves nearly scored in every inning, missing only the 5th inning. They responded well with 3-runs in the 6th to end the game. Max Nielsen was tremendous on the hill, holding LoMa to 2 hits but adding 10 strikeouts. They opened the game with a 1st inning run but stretched the lead with a 3-run 2nd inning.
Max Nielsen was outstanding all-around, getting the win on the hills with 10 strikeouts, allowing 2 hits. He added a pair of doubles at the plate, driving in a run and scoring 3 times. Tristan Barry added a pair of RBI with a base hit. Ben Ramsey scored twice.
The Wolves are now 3-4 on the season and will host Ar-We-Va At 10:00 Saturday morning.

This game was closer than it appears. The Wildcats trailed 3-0 early but tied the game in the 3rd inning, putting up 3-runs in the inning. CAM Anita answered with 6-runs in the 4th inning and scored 7 rimes in the 5th inning. The Cougars rally in the 4th inning happened with 2 outs. They were able to stretch a few hits together after the Wildcats made a couple mistakes.
Mark Lensch and John Whitver had the Wildcats 2 hits. Lensch also walked twice. Jackson Sklenar and Ethan Olberding both drove in a run.
The loss drops Glidden Ralston to 2-6 overall and 2-3 in the Rolling Valley. They host Woodbine on Tuesday.

For five and half innings the Titans were the better team on the field, more aggressive, playing with more energy and great confidence. They built and 8-4 lead heading into the 5th inning by being extremely aggressive on the base paths, even having Brodie Voith steal home. The defense had not committed an error and even though they had walked 9 batters and hit another heading into the 6th, they were still in control of the game. Things went sideways in the 6th inning as anything that could go wrong did. The Rebels scored 18-runs on 10 hits and benefited from 5 Titans errors in the 6th inning and were able to end the game, after holding the Titans to a run in the bottom half.
Brock Nattress reached on a fielders choice in the 1st inning, and scored on a double by Charlie Nattress. That run tied the game. A one out walk by Keegan Soard was followed by a singe from Kaden Dorman and both guys scored on a single by Andrew Anderson. The lead was short lived as the Rebels scored 3 in the top 3rd but South Central Calhoun quickly took the momentum back. Jayden Soard singled to start the bottom 3rd, followed by a single from Brodie Voith, scoring Soard. Caleb Juhl and Keegan Soard walked and scored on a single by Kaden Dorman. Brodie Voith stole home during the inning and the Titans led 7-4 after 3. They added a run on a balk in the 4th.
The Titans had Kaden Dorman, Andrew Anderson, Brock Nattress, Charlie Nattress and Brodie Voith all had 2 hits. Dorman, Anderson both drove in a pair of runs. Brock Natrress tripled while Charlie had a pair of doubles. Voith doubled and drove in a run. Keegan Soard scored a pair of runs.
The loss drops South Central Calhoun to 2-3 as they will host Manson NW Webster on Monday.

Audubon held the lead late, up 5-3 heading into the 7th inning. Gavin Smith, who had homered also pitched a good game, holding the Big Red to 4 hits through 6 innings. Missouri Valle was able to find some offense in the 7th and scored 5 times to pick up the win. Audubon finished with 9 hits compared to 7 for the Big Red.
Gavin Smith had three hits at the plate, including a solo home run. He finished with 3 runs batted. On the hill he went 6 innings, allowing 4 hits and 3 earned runs. Evan Alt doubled and tripled while driving in two runs and scoring twice. Aaron Olsen scored a pair of runs and Braden Wessel drove in a run.
The loss drops Audubon to 3-5 overall and 1-3 in the WIC. They travel to LoMa on Monday.
