Kuemper had one of those games on Wednesday afternoon when nothing would go right. The Knights left 9 runners on base, committed 5 errors,  walked 5 batters and hit 2 more. The issues helped a very good Underwood team score nine times in the 3rd inning to blow the game open. Kuemper finished with 6 hits as they fall to 4-2 on the season and saw their four game win streak come to an end.

Cooper Pottebaum picked up a pair of hits and drove in a run. Benicio Lujano, John Boes, Max Irlmeier and Carter Putney all had a hit.

Kuemper hosts Ridge View on Thursday.

Carroll fell to 0-6 overall and 0-3 in the Raccoon River Conference as defensive struggles and walks helped Bondurant Farrar score 7 unearned runs. The Bluejays scored in every inning, building a 9-0 lead in the top of the 5th. Carroll responded with hits best inning, stringing a series of singles together and scoring 3-runs. That was the best inning for the Tigers but Bondurant Farrar responded in the 6th and then scored 5 times in the 7th to blow the game open.

Evan Loew doubled and finished with 2 hits with an RBI. Chase Ragaller also doubled, Ethan Loew, Cooper Ludwig and Tate Schleisman drove in runs.

The Tigers head to Carlisle on Thursday.

Coon Rapids Bayard edged IKM-Manning in a well played game were the teams combined for only 3 errors and 4 walks and 2 hit-by-pitches. The game was scoreless until the 4th inning when the Crusaders scored twice with aggressive baserunning, a base hit and some errors by the Wolves defense. They added runs in the 5th and 6th inning. IKM-Manning had the lead off runner on five times but were unable to advance a runner past 2nd base until the 7th inning. Jacob Estrada threw out a couple baserunners early in the game, taking the run game away from the Wolves. The Crusaders had runners on base in five of the six innings and missed an opportunity in the 1st inning when Easton Hays lead off with a single. He was trying to steal 2nd base when a pop up on the infield created a double play to get the Wolves out of the inning.

Easton Hays leadoff double in the 4th inning ignited the Crusaders offense, Lance Clayburg walked and attempted to steal 2nd base. The Wolves looked to throw to 3rd to get Hays who had stolen the base earlier in the Clayburg at-bat but the throw went into the outfield, allowing Hays to score and Clayburg to move to 3rd. Preston McAlister drove in Clayburg with a groundout making it 2-0.  A walk to Jacob Estrada to start the 5th inning allowed Parker Hays to run for him and Hays scored on a sac fly by Gabe Obert. The Crusaders got an insurance run in the 6th when Cal Heydon doubled and scored on a double by Jacob Estrada. Treyton Goins singled for IKM-Manning in the 7th, then stole 2nd and 3rd base but was stranded when Estrada struck out the other three batters he faced in the inning.

Easton Hays went 3-3 for Coon Rapids Bayard with a pair of doubles and scored once. Cal Heydon had a pair of hits and a double, scoring a run. Jacob Estrada doubled and drove in a run. Easton Hays got the win, going 5 2/3 innings, allowing 4 hits and striking out 6.

Ben Ramsey, Cooper Perdew, Treyton Barry and Kaiden Berry all singled and Max Nielsen doubled in the 6th inning for IKM-Manning. Lane Sams went 6 innings on the  hill, allowing 7 hits and 3 earned runs.

The Crusaders improved to 5-1 on the season as they prepare to head to Audubon on Thursday. IKM-Manning falls to 1-4 and will travel to Riverside on Thursday.

Audubon got a nice bounce back win, improving their approach at the plate, picking up 3 hits, but also driving in all 3-runs and earned 3 walks. Gavin Smith and Gavin Larsen both doubled. Braden Wessel pitched well, holding West Central Valley after the Wheelers took the lead early. Audubon scored twice in the 1st inning, then added a run in the 3rd inning.

Aaron Olsen picked up a base hit and scored 2 of their 3 runs. Gavin Smith and Gavin Larsen doubles were the Wheelers other hits. Braden Wessel went 6 innings, allowing 4 hits and striking out 7. Gavin Larsen pitched the 7th striking out 3.

The win improves Audubon to 3-3. They host Coon Rapids Bayard on Thursday.

South Central Calhoun played well in every aspect, with Andrew Anderson pitching well, striking out 10, Jayden Soard throwing out a pair of runners and the Titans put the bat on the ball, finishing with six hits. The Titans grabbed the lead in the 4th inning, then opened up the lead with 3-runs in the 5th. GTRA responded with a pair of runs in the 6th but the Titans salted it away with 5-runs in the bottom half.

Kaden Dorman and Andrew Anderson each had a pair of hits and both drove in a run and scored twice. Anderson stole 4 bases and Dorman stole a pair of bases. Anderson pitched 5 1/3 innings, giving up 1 hit while striking out 10.

The win improves them to 2-1 overall. They head to Ogden on Thursday.

Caden Wenck came up clutch with a base hit in the top 7th, driving in a pair of runs, helping the Wildcats pick up a huge road win. Exira-EHK tied the game in the 5th but Glidden Ralston was able to load the bases on three walks in the 7th, setting things up for Wenck to get the hit with 2 outs. Colby Wallace and Mark Lensch both threw well, helping the Wildcats rally after falling down early 2-0 with 3-runs in the 3rd.

Wenck finished with a team high 2 hits and 2 RBI. Tyler Brant doubled and drove in a pair of runs and Jonathan Bergmeier added a base  hit and RBI. The Wildcats finished with 6 hits and 5 RBI. Colby Wallace went 4 1/3 innings, with 5 hits and 2 earned runs. Mark Lensch went 2 2/3 innings with 5 strikeouts, collecting the win.

The Wildcats improved to 2-5 on the season and 2-2 in the Rolling Valley. They host CAM Anita on Friday.

Ar-We-Va battled hard but fell to 0-4 on the season. The Rockets got a solid pitching performance from Will Ragaller, giving them the chance to win but they weren’t able to score until the 7th inning. Woodbine took the lead with a 3-run 4th inning and then didn’t relinquish the lead. Braeden Kirsch drove in Wade Ragaller in the 7th for the Rockets but they weren’t able to finish the rally.

Will Ragaller pitched 6 innings, allowing 1 hit and 3 earned runs with 5 strikeouts and 2 walks. Ragaller, Wade Ragaller, Timothy Dose, Braeden Kirsch and Wyatt Ragaller all had a hit with Kirsch driving in a run and Wade Ragaller scoring.

The Rockets sit 0-4 overall and in the conference. They are off until Saturday when they travel to IKM-Manning.

East Sac finished with 8 hits and scored a run but they fell in 5 innings, falling to 0-2 on the season. Weston Drost drove in Bradyn Burns in the 1st inning but Emmetsburg led 4-1 after the 1st. The E-Hawks scored a pair of runs in the 2nd before adding 4 more in the 5th to push the lead to 10 runs.

Weston Drost and Aden Vondrak both had 2 hits while Carter Erritt, Bradyn Burns, Preston Mauer and Luke Wright all had 1 hit.

The Raiders travel to Alta-Aurelia on Friday.
