Logan Sibenaller hit a 3-run home run in the top of the 7th with 1 out, then picked up the save on the hill in relief of Cal Wanninger. The game ended with Kuemper turning a double play after Kingsley Pierson had gotten a runner on 1st with one out. Benicio Lujano started the Kuemper rally in the top of the 7th, doubling to lead off the inning. Mason Knerl singled to put runners on 1st and 3rd with one out. That brought Logan Sibenaller to the plate and he drove a pitch over the fence for a three run home run, putting Kuemper ahead 5-3.
The Knights scored first, when Logan Sibenaller walked and scored on an error off a ground ball by Trevor Rial with two outs. They extended the lead in the 3rd, Sibenaller singled and again scored on an error. Kingsley Pierson rallied with a run in the 4th and then took their first lead with a pair of runs in the 5th. Kuemper threatened in the 6th, with Koby Lampman walking and Cal Wanninger singling but they were stranded at 2nd and 3rd. The setup the 7th inning for Sibenaller.
Kuemper finished with 6 hits on the night with Logan Sibenaller and Benicio Lujano both having 2 hits. Sibenaller had a 3-run home run and Lujano doubled. Sibenaller picked up 3 RBI and scored 3 of the Knights 5 runs. Cal Wanninger pitched 6 solid innings getting the win, allowing 4 hits and 1 earned run while striking out 9. Sibenaller picked up the save, pitching the 7th.
The win improves Kuemper to 3-1 on the season. They head to Coon Rapids Bayard on Thursday on KIKD 106.7.
