Maverick Schwabe of Kuemper At Coldwater Links- Class 2A
Maverick Schwabe gave himself a shot at winning the State Individual Golf Championship on day one, shooting a 74, putting him 5 strokes off the lead in a tie for 6th place. Schwabe was even on the front 9, picking up a birdie on the first hole, then shooting par on holes two through four. His bogey on number 5 put him at even. He finished the front 9 with a birdie on 7 and a bogey on 9 while shooting par on holes 4 and 8. The back 9 didn’t start well with a double bogey on 10 and a bogey on 11. He picked up 4 straight pars before bogeying 16. After shooting par on 17, Schwabe had a birdie on 18. He finished his round with a 36-38 for a 74.
Schwabe is scheduled to tee off at 10:20 on Tuesday for round 2.
