Girls Regional Golf Finals for Wednesday, May 18th

 

Class 1A

IKM-Manning and Coon Rapids Bayard, Kali Irlmeier of Audubon, and Addy Boell of Glidden Ralston at Newell Fonda

Kylie Powers and Addy Boell were the lone golfers from Wednesday’s Class 1A regional meet to advance to the state meet among area golfers as she competed against golfers from IKM-Manning, Coon Rapids Bayard, Kali Irlmeier of Audubon, and Addy Boell from Glidden Ralston. For the area teams at the meet, IKM-Manning finished in fifth place with a team score of 423, followed by Coon Rapids Bayard who finished sixth with a team score of 453. Newell Fonda and Central Lyon advanced to the state meet as teams with Newell Fonda winning the meet with a score of 370, followed by Central Lyon in second with a score of 385. 

For the IKM-Manning Wolves, Kylie Powers was able to secure her spot in the state golf meet with an individual score of 90 and fourth overall. Megan Williams followed Powers with a score of 106, followed by Maeve Nielsen with a score of 110. Bailee Germer wrapped up her day on the course with a score of 117, rounding out the scoring for the Wolves. 

Emma Hart of Coon Rapids Bayard finished the best among her teammates with a score of 99, good for 17th overall individually. Morgan Hart and Brynn Bass finished near each other with their scores of 113 and 114, respectively. Macy Winnett rounded out the scoring for the Crusaders with a final score of 127. 

For the individuals competing from area schools, Addy Boell of Glidden Ralston was able to qualify for the state meet thanks to a three-way tie for 6th place. She with a score of 95. Kali Irlmeier of Audubon finished her day in 26th place with a score of 109. 

Powers will be golfing at the state golf meet on May 25th and 26th.

Class 3A

Carroll at Terrace Hill

The Carroll Tigers’ season came to an end Wednesday as they traveled to Terrace Hill to compete in their Class 3A Regional finals. As a team, the Tigers finished fifth overall with a score of 394, beating out Winterset in a tiebreaker for that fifth-place finish. Gilbert and ADM advanced to state golf with the top two scores of 319 and 366, respectively. 

Individually for the Tigers, Ashlee Danner finished the best among her teammates with a 16th place finish with a score of 96. Erin Winker finished two spots below Danner at 18th place with a score of 98. Delaney Schurke wrapped up her season with a 20th place finish individually with a score of 99. Rounding out the scoring for the Tigers was Makalei Kofron as she finished the day with a score of 101.
