The Kuemper Knights have punched their ticket to the first round of the state tennis tournament as they swept Clarke Tuesday afternoon in their regional final. The Knights only dropped 12 sets en route to their 5-0 victory with a few sets they had to battle hard for. Jordan Schwabe and Keziah Janssen both had matches where they had to swing the momentum to their side to win. Schwabe was up against Ava Hagen where Hagen took three sets from Schwabe in the first match, but Schwabe finished off the set with a 6-3 win and then won set two 6-1. Janssen had little trouble in the first set, winning 6-0, but Moly Sickels put up a solid fight in the second set. Sickels took four sets from Janssen before Janssen pulled away for good with a 6-4 set win to take the match. Samantha Tidgren and Alyssa Brant had little trouble in their matches as they won 6-1, 6-1, and 6-0, 6-2 respectively. Finally, Ella Schwarte was to go wire to wire and won her sets 6-0 and 6-0 over Jadie Bowlsby. The Knights advance to the first round of the state tennis tournament where they will compete over in Denison and take on the winner of Spirit Lake vs Spencer on Saturday, May 21st.

Ella Schwarte of Kuemper won 6-0, 6-0 over Jadie Bowlsby of Clarke

Keziah Janssen of Kuemper won 6-0, 6-4 over Moly Sickels of Clarke
