Boys District Golf Results Monday, May 16th
Carroll At Spencer Golf and Country Club- Class 3A
Carroll fell short of advancing as their season came to an end in districts on Monday. The Tigers finished in 5th place, with Spencer (312), MOC Floyd Valley (320) and Webster City (320) advancing as teams. Bryce Berlau and Drew Munson challenged the top of the leaderboard but missed qualifying for state as individuals.
Bryce Berlau led the Tigers with a 79, going 41-38. He had a birdie on hole 1 and three straight pars on holes 4-6 on the front 9 and shot par on 5 holes in the back 9. Drew Munson added a 82 for the Tigers, shooting 42-40. Munson shot par on 4 holes on the front 9 and had a par on holes 10-15 on the back 9. Will Ragaller and had an 88, with a 42-46. Ragaller had 4 pars on the front 9 and a birdie and 2 pars on the back 9. Miles Bogue and Conner Kirsch each shot 92 with Bogue going 44-48 and Kirsch finishing 46-46. Bogue had a par on the front 9 and 3 par on the back 9. Kirsch went for 2 par on the front 9 and 3 par on the back 9.

Kuemper and Justin Hanks and Bryan Steig of South Central Calhoun At Carroll Country Club- Class 2A
Maverick Schwabe advances to State as an individual but Kuemper falls just short as a team on Monday. Schwabe shot a 73 to tie with Dexter Whitehill of Grundy Center for the low score. Those two would have a playoff with Schwabe winning to advance to state as an individual. The Knights finished 3rd as a team, edged by Osage by 4 strokes. Grundy Center was the champion, shooting a 303 and they advanced with Osage who finished with a 322. Kuemper was 3rd with a 326.
Schwabe shot 39-34 including a chip-in eagle on 14. Tyler Auen had the next best score for Kuemper with an 82, shooting 42-40, Kayden Schon added an 85, going 46-39, while Benicio Lujano and Carter Putney both shot 86. Lujano went 44-42 and Putney finished 44-42.
The Titans had a pair of golfers in the district meet and both guys were consistent in the mid 40’s on the front and back. Justin Hanks finished with a 87, going 43-44. Bryan Steig shot 91, with a 46-45.

Audubon and Coon Rapids Bayard and Max Nielsen of IKM-Manning At Spring Valley-Class 1A
Audubon finished 3rd with a 354 and Coon Rapids Bayard had a 355 but they neither team advances to the state meet as Lake Mills won the district meet with a 331 and North Butler also advanced with a 340. Max Nielsen of IKM-Manning also had a chance to advance as an individual, finishing his day with a 94.
Jay Remsburg of Audubon led the local golfers with an 85, Preston McAlister of Coon Rapids Bayard and Edward Miller of Audubon both had an 86. Toby Benninger of Coon Rapids Bayard shot an 87 while teammate Jacob Estrada finished with an 89. Carter Andreasen of Audubon had a 91 and Oliver Deist of Audubon finished with a 92. Trey Rosenbeck of Coon Rapids Bayard shot a 93 and Max Nielsen of IKM-Manning had a 94.
