Boys Sectional Golf Results Wednesday, May 11th 

Carroll At Denison Schleswig At Majestic Hills- Class 3A

It was a good day for the Carroll Tigers, advancing through to Districts as a team along with Drew Munson winning 1st place as an individual. The Tigers and Lewis Central will head to Spencer Golf & Country Club on Monday. Lewis Central edged Carroll 338 to 342 for the sectional title. Carroll held off Atlantic, who took 3rd with a 344.

Drew Munson shot a 77 to win the individual medalist honor, edging Jordan Greenwood of Lewis Central, who shot a 78. Munson went 40-37 for his 77, picking up 5 par’s on the front 9 and 7 par’s on the back 9. He didn’t shoot above 5 all round. Miles Bouge finished with a 87, going 45-42. Bogue had 4 par’s on the front 9 and back 9. His best holes were a 3 on holes 4 and 13. Bryce Berlau added an 88 for Carroll, shooting 45-43. Berlau had 3 par’s on the front 9 and 4 on the back 9. He shot a 3 on hole 4. Will Ragaller was the last score that counted towards Carroll team score, finishing 43-47 for a 90. Ragaller had 3 par’s on the front 9 and 2 on the back. He fired a 3 on both holes 4 and 12.

Kuemper At South Hamilton at Jewell Golf and Country Club- Class 2A  

Kuemper claimed another sectional title on Wednesday, running away from the pack to win by 12 strokes over host South Hamilton. The Knights finished with a 330 while South Hamilton had a 342. South Hamilton 2nd place finish allowed Panorama to also advance as the 3rd place team, shooting a 343.

Kuemper had five of the top ten scores on the day and all six Knights golfers finished in the top 12. Maverick Schwabe led Kuemper with a 76, shooting 39-37. He finished his round with a birdie and 5 par’s on the front 9, to go with 2 birdies and 4 par’s on the back 9. Kayden Schon has come on strong the last week, finishing in 4th place with a 40-42 for a 82. Schon picked up a birdie and 4 par’s on the front 9 and a birdie and 2 par’s on the back 9. Kuemper had three guys shot 86, led by Carter Putney, who went 43-43 to finish in 7th place. Putney had 2 par’s on the front 9 and 3 par’s on the back.  Tyler Auen  finished 8th overall, going 41-45. Auen had 4 par’s on the front 9 and 4 par’s on the back 9. He was really strong on the par 3’s and 5’s on the front 9.

East Sac and South Central Calhoun At Emerald Hills- Class 2A

Justin Hanks and Bryan Steig of South Central Calhoun advanced to the district meet on Monday at the Carroll Country Club. The Titans fell short as a team with a 362, finishing in 3rd place. East Sac had three golfers, so didn’t have a team score.

Hanks and Steig both shot 86 to advance in 8th and 9th place respectively. Hanks went 41-46, finishing 4 par’s on the front 9 and 3 on the back 9. Steig shot 40-46 with 5 par’s on the front 9 and 3 par’s on the back 9. Brady Schumacher shot 92 with a 46-46 for the Titans with a par on the front 9 and 2 par’s on the back 9. Nik Whipkey finished with a 98 for the Titans, going 47-51. Whipkey had a par on the front 9. Bradyn Burns led the Raiders with a 95, going 47-48. He had 2 par’s on the front 9 and 1 on the back 9. Carter Hogrefe ended with a 48-48 for a 96, with a par on the front 9 and3 par’s on the back 9. Hutton Pasche shot a 148, going 65-83.

Audubon, Coon Rapids Bayard, Glidden Ralston and IKM-Manning At Lakeside At Fort Dodge- Class 1A

Coon Rapids Bayard and Audubon advance as teams, taking 1st and 2nd place while Max Nielsen of IKM-Manning finished tied for 2nd place as an individual and advanced as well to play at Spring Valley on Monday. The Crusaders edged Audubon by 1 stroke with a 363 to the Wheelers 364. St Edmond took 3rd with a 370 and IKM-Manning finished 4th with a 403. Glidden Ralston brought home 7th place with a 452.

Jacob Estrada of Coon Rapids Bayard and Max Nielsen of IKM-Manning tied for 2nd place as individuals, both with 85’s. Nielsen advances as an individual after shooting 41-44. He finished his round with 5 par’s on the front 9 and 1 on the back 9. Estrada finished 46-39 with 1 par on the front 9 and 6 par’s on the back 9. Preston McAlister of Coon Rapids Bayard added a 90 with a 39-51, he had a birdie and 5 par’s on the front and a par on the back. Trey Rosenbeck went 44-47 for Coon Rapids Bayard with 3 pars on the front and 2 on the back while Toby Benninger added a 97, going 49-48. Benninger had a par on the front 9 and back 9. Oliver Deist led the Wheelers with a 90, going 43-47. Deist had 3 par’s on the front 9. Jay Remsburg and Edward Miller both shot 91 for the Wheelers. Remsburg went 43-48 with 4 par’s on the front 9 and 2 on the back. Miller went 46-45 with 2 par’s on the front 9 and 2 on the back 9. Carter Andreasen added a 92 for Audubon 44-48. He had 4 par’s on the front 9 and 3 on the back 9. Josh Walker shot a 93 for IKM-Manning with a 46-47. Walker had 2 par’s on the front 9 and 2 on the back 9. Devyn Snyder finished with a 111, going 53-58. He had a par on the front 9 and back 9. Nolan Ramsey went 54-60 for the Wolves. John Whitver paced the Wildcats with a 107, shooting 50-57. Whitver had a par on the front 9. Caden Wenck finished with a 110, going 50-60 with a par on the front 9. Tyler Brant shot 58-53 for a 111 for the Wildcats and had 2 par’s on the back 9. Mark Lensch finished with a 124, shooting 6-64.
