The Kuemper girls had another perfect day on the courts as they cruised past Atlantic Wednesday. The Knights have been on a roll this season, sweeping St Edmond earlier in the week by a match score of 9-0, and doing it once again against Atlantic. The Knights went 48-8 in singles sets and 24-8 in doubles sets. Samantha Tidgren and Ella Schwarte were both perfect in singles as they did not drop a set to their Atlantic opponents, going 8-0. Alyssa Brant and Jordan Schwabe were close to perfection but dropped only a single set to win 8-1. Sophie Rohe found success in singles as she won her match 8-2. Keziah Janssen had to battle a bit for her win in singles, but she was victorious by a score of 8-4.
Doubles was where Atlantic gave Kuemper a bit of trouble. Rohe and Schwarte teamed up and downed their opponents by a score of 8-1. Jansen and Morgan Muhlbauer saw some resistance from Genevieve McCalla and Quincy Sorenson of Atlantic, but they ultimately got past the Atlantic duo 8-3. Tidgren and Schwabe have been a solid duo for Kuemper thus far this season but had an entertaining match against Addie Schmitt and Aspen Niklason. While the duo from Atlantic put up a good fight, Tidgren and Schwabe were able to pull out an 8-4 win.
The Knights will improve to 10-2 as a team. The Knights are back in action on Thursday, April 28th when they play host to Audubon.

Kuemper’s matches against Atlantic came down to the final match in doubles to determine the winner where the Knights were victorious on Wednesday. Both teams were even through their singles matches and Kuemper introduced some new doubles teams that made the difference in the end. The Knights in singles went 49-41 and went 27-17 in doubles. Jared Hausman, Hans Kraus, and Jared Craig were the three players who picked up wins for the Knights in singles. Hausman and Kraus had no troubles putting away their opponents, winning 10-2. Craig, on the other hand, had a little work to put in to secure his 10-7 win. Josh Langel and Jake Hausman both had entertaining singles matches, but unfortunately, they did not go in their favor, losing 10-7 and 10-8 respectively.
Both teams needed their doubles team to pull out two wins in order to win the meet. Sam Janssen, who normally teams up with Jared Hausman, was instead teamed up with Josh Langel who put up a good fight. Ultimately, the duo from Atlantic took the game 10-7. Jared and Jake Hausman were teamed up in their doubles match where they meshed well enough to come away with a 10-4 win. Kraus and Max Reinke were tasked with winning their match and the meet for Kuemper and they pulled through with a solid 10-6 win over Easton O’Brian and Nolan Waters.
Kuemper will be in action on Thursday, April 28th when they travel to take on Audubon.
