Golf Results for Wednesday, April 27th
Kuemper Boys at CYO Tournament
The Kuemper boys were solid from top to bottom as they claimed back-to-back CYO tournament wins. The Knights did this with consistent golfing from their top four guys who all placed in the top five. As a team, they were able to win the tournament by 46 strokes with a score of 320. Gehlen Catholic tied up second place with a score of 366 and Storm Lake St. Mary’s was in third with a score of 370.
Maverick Schwabe put up one of his best performances of the year, tying for first place with Mason Laven of Storm Lake St Mary’s with a score of 75. Tyler Auen and Kayden Schon both ended the day with similar scores as they tied for third with a score of 81. Cater Putney was solid as well, rounding out the scoring for the Knights with a fifth-place finish with a score of 83. While outside of Kuemper’s scores, Benicio Lujano also finished inside the top ten individually with a score of 89 and a seventh-place finish. The Knights finish up their week of competition as they travel with Carroll to Storm Lake on Saturday, April 30th.

Kuemper Girls at CYO Tournament
Grace Tigges competed well at the CYO tournament where she was able to place. She finished up the tournament with a score of 112 and finished in 20th place. Head Coach Deb Gute says it was windy over at Fort Dodge and despite the conditions, she was happy with Tigges’ performance. The Knights are back in action on Saturday, April 30th when they go up against Atlantic at the Carroll Country Club.
