The weather didn’t cooperate perfectly on Thursday but the Kuemper girls withstood a 30 minute lightening delay to pick up a shutout win on the road. The win is their second straight this week and both were on the road.  They played to a scoreless first half though the Knights were the more aggressive team. Kuemper out shot the Panthers 20-3 on the night, eventually wearing them down and striking twice in the 2nd half. The Knights improved to 2-5 on the season, picking up their first win in the Hawkeye 10 Conference.

Kenya Prescott took a pass from Kora Thomsen and scored at the 35:00 minute mark of the 2nd half to give Kuemper a 1-0 lead. They extended the lead at the 22:00 mark when Karly Baumhover assisted on a goal by Kora Thomsen. The defense continued to pitch the shutout as Ashlyn Badding had to make 3 saves.

Kora Thomsen had a goal and assist. Kenya Prescott added a goal on 5 shots on goal and Karly Baumhover had an assist. Kuemper had 11 different girls take at least one shot on goal with Prescott leading them with 5, Kora Thomsen, Lauren Boell and Karsyn Overmohle all had 2 shots and Jordan Schulte added 3 shots on goal.

The Knights take on Carroll High on Monday.
