Boys Track Results for Thursday, April 21st

Kuemper at Carroll

Carroll and Kuemper didn’t have to travel far for their track meet Thursday as both teams competed in the Tiger Relays. The Knights had a solid night as a team, finishing in sixth place in the standings with 46 points with Carroll finishing in 10th with 34 points. 

Kuemper’s Logan Sibenaller had great performances in the 100- and 200-meter dashes, getting third in the 100 with a time of 11.71 and second in the 200 in a time of 23.58. He also aided his speed to the sprint medley relay team, along with Garrett Christensen, Tanner Higby, and Trevor Rial, that finished third with a time of 1:41.50. Jacob Greving was able to secure a third-place finish in the 3200 with a time of 10:48.82. Michael Pottebaum’s day included a win in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.03 and a third-place finish in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:07.08. Pottebaum told Carroll Broadcasting that he looks to continue to cut time off of his events and looks to improve with each meet.

Carroll’s sprint medley relay team gave the Tigers their best finish of the meet. Composed of Remy Richardson, Jack White, Reece Ziegman, and Zach Dirkx, they finished in second place with a time of 1:39.88. Dirkx also had impressive days in his individual events, finishing third in the 200- and 400-meter event with times of 23.64 and 53.22 respectively. Tanner Pontow gave the Tigers some good points as he finished third in the 110 hurdles in a time of 16.68. 

Carroll will be at Manson NW Webster on Tuesday, April 26th and Kuemper will be at North Polk on the same day.

IKM-Manning and Ar-We-Va at OABCIG

IKM-Manning and Ar-We-Va were both on the road Thursday as they competed in the OABCIG Co-Ed meet. Both teams came away with strong performances overall. IKM-Manning was able to win the meet with 106 team points, followed by Ridge View with 103 points in second, Lawton Bronson in third with 102 points, OABCIG in fourth with 100 points, and Ar-We-Va with 47 points in fifth. 

The Wolves were able to come away with two first place finishes and four second place finishes. Caden Keller had an outstanding performance in the 800-meter run, winning the event with a time of 2:09.47. He also placed second in the 3200-meter run with a time of 10:27.51. Lane Sams and Reed Hinners had a bit of a competition in the 1600 meter run as Sams barely edged out Hinners for the win with a time of 4:57.54 while Hinners recorded a time of 4:57.59. Amos Rasmussen was his usual speedy self, recording a second-place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.02. Finally, the distance medley relay team, composed of Jase Lueth, Eli Dreyer, Justin Segebart, and Lane Sams, were able to grab a second-place finish with a time of 4:03.38. 

Cooper Kock for Ar-We-Va was unstoppable as he gave the Rockets three first place finishes. He was victorious in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.93, 400 hurdles with a time of 1:00.10, and the high jump with a best jump of 6-04.00. Kock also helped the shuttle hurdle team to a second-place finish. Joined by Wade Ragaller, Luke Lavana, and Blayne Smith, they finished in a time of 1:08.90. Jon Dose gave the Rockets a good number of points as he finished third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.35. 

Ar-We-Va is back in action on Monday, April 25th when they travel to Woodbine. IKM-Manning is at Audubon on Tuesday, April 26th.

Glidden Ralston and Paton Churdan at West Central Valley

Glidden Ralston and Paton Churdan were in action Thursday as they competed at the West Central Valley Wildcat Relays. Both teams went up against some stiff competition with Glidden Ralston able to place in the team standings in eighth place, tied with Panorama, with 12 team points. 

Ethan Olberding was able to secure a fifth-place finish in the high jump for Glidden Ralston, with a best jump of 5-04.00. The shuttle hurdle team, composed of Carter Soyer, Waylon Hein, Jonathan Bergmeier, and Ethan Olberding, grabbed a fourth-place finish in a time of 1:11.17. The distance medley relay team had the best finish for the Wildcats. Composed of Carter Soyer, Lucas Christian, Ethan Olberding, and Emmett Snyder, the team took third place with a time of 4:02.96. 

For Paton Churdan, James Currier finished in 11th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.88 and Bryce Baker got 6th in the 101-meter dash in a time of 13.37. The Wildcats are back in action on Monday, April 25th at Woodbine. The Rockets are at ACGC on Thursday, April 28th.
