Boys Track Results for Tuesday, April 19th

 

Kuemper at Madrid

The Kuemper Knights competed in cold conditions and did fairly well at Madrid on Tuesday. The Knights finished in fifth place in the team standings with 77 points. They would finish the day with four top three finishes. Evan Adams was able to set a new school record in the discus event and win the event with a best throw of 157-01. Michael Pottebaum was able to beat out the competition and win the 400-meter dash in a time of 51.01. The team’s sprint medley relay team, composed of Logan Sibenaller, Garrett Christensen, Tanner Higby, and Pottebaum, were able to pull away with a second-place finish in a time of 1:41.03. Sibenaller was also able to grab a third-place finish individually in the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.12. The Knights are back in action on Thursday, April 21st when they and Carroll compete at the Carroll Athletic Stadium.

Audubon and Paton Churdan at CAM Anita

Audubon and Paton Churdan traveled to CAM Anita for the CAM Co-ed track meet on Tuesday. The Wheelers as a team finished in fifth place in the standings with 46 points. Paton Churdan was able to grab a top eight finish on the day. 

Audubon’s relay events were the strongest part of their day on the track. Aaron Olsen, Zeke Konkler, Logan Schmidt, and Carter Andreasen were all part of the 4X200 and sprint medley relays where they got second with a time of 1:39.49 and won the event in a time of 1:43.30 respectively. Brandon Jensen took the place of Konkler to join Olsen, Schmidt, and Andreasen in the 4X100 relay where the team took third place with a time of 46.77. Gavin Smith then joined Olsen, Jensen, and Andreasen in the shuttle hurdle where the relay team got second place with a time of 1:04.65. 

Paton Churdan was able to secure an eighth-place finish in the sprint medley relay. Bryce Baker, Justin Stream, Shaydon Thurman, and Seth Thurman finished in a time of 1:56.56.

IKM-Manning and Ar-We-Va at Denison-Schleswig

IKM-Manning and Ar-We-Va’s track teams traveled to Denison Schleswig for the Ace Nelson Relays where both teams came away with good performances. IKM-Manning as a team finished in third place with 68 points, with Ar-We-Va finishing in eighth place with 23 points. 

Amos Rasmussen for IKM-Manning had excellent times in the sprint events, finishing second in the 100 and 200 meters with times of 11.32 and 23.65 respectively. The Wolves also had solid performances in the distance events, with Lane Sams placing third or higher in the 1600 and 3200 runs. He won the 3200 with a time of 10:55.01 and got third in the 1600 with a time of 5:04.40. Caden Keller was able to outlast Sams in the 1600 to get second place in the event with a time of 5:00.00. Reed Hinners was hundreths of a second off from beating Sams in the 3200, but he took home second place with a final time of 10:55.03. Keller joined Jaxon Doyel, Abe Polzien, and Hunter Smith in the 4X800 relay where they matched up well with Denison Schleswig. Smith in the final 100 meters was barely defeated by the Monarchs, but he still gave the Wolves a second-place finish with a final time of 9:06.58. The distance medley relay team, composed of Rasmussen, Eli Dreyer, Ross Kusel, and Keller, took home a third-place finish in a time of 3:57.13. 

For the Ar-We-Va Rockets, Cooper Kock came away with two first place finishes. He won the 110 hurdles in a time of 15.51 and the high jump with a best jump of 6-02.00. Jonathan Dose also had solid days in the sprint events, with a fifth-place finish in the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.83 and fourth in the 200-meter dash in a time of 24.38.

South Central Calhoun, Coon Rapids Bayard, and Glidden Ralston at SE Valley

South Central Calhoun, Coon Rapids Bayard, and Glidden Ralston all were in action Tuesday afternoon as they traveled to Gowrie for the Southeast Valley Co-Ed Relays. All three teams finished close with each other on the team standings, with Coon Rapids Bayard standing above the rest with 55 points in fifth place. They were followed by Glidden Ralston in sixth place with 29 points and South Central Calhoun with 26 points in seventh place. 

The Crusaders took home the most top three finishes among the area teams at this meet. Easton Hays, Gabe Obert, and Omarion Floyd were all part of the 4X200 and sprint medley relays that won their events. Raiden Doty aided the 4X200 team to victory as they finished with a time of 1:36.38. Kolby Culbertson lent his speed to the sprint medley team as they won with a time of 1:41.27. Hays, Floyd, Obert, and Tanner Oswald were able to secure a third-place finish in the 4X100 relay with a time of 45.70. Lucas Obert, Parker Hays, Lance Clayburg, and Oswald were part of the shuttle hurdle relay where they took third place with a time of 1:15.05. Tanner Oswald was the lone Crusader with a top three finish individually as he got third in the 110 hurdles in a time of 18.58. 

For the Glidden Ralston Wildcats, Carter Soyer brought home a first-place finish as he won the 400-meter hurdles event in a time of 1:04.42. Emmett Snyder captured a third-place finish in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:19.74. The distance medley relay team, composed of Soyer, Snyder, Lucas Christian, and Ethan Olberding, gave the Wildcats their lone relay top three finish as they finished in third place with a time of 4:13.42. 

Andrew Anderson for South Central Calhoun was able to finish in third place in the high jump event with a best jump of 5-06.00. Jaydon Soard was solid in the throwing event as he got fourth in shot put, with a best throw of 42-08.50, and discus, with a best throw of 125-05. Tristian Blair had a good performance in the 3200-run with a fourth-place finish in a time of 11.44.11.
