Girls Track Results for Monday, April 11th
Audubon, IKM-Manning, East Sac, South Central Calhoun at Carroll Co-Ed
Carroll, Audubon, IKM-Manning, South Central Calhoun, and East Sac were all in action Monday at the Carroll Co-Ed with each team coming away with good finishes. Carroll won the meet as a team with 123 points in total. Audubon finished in third place with 62 team points, followed by South Central Calhoun in seventh with 53 points, IKM-Manning in eighth with 39 points, and East Sac in ninth with 32 team points.
The Tigers had strong performances in their relay events and saw great times in their individual events. Hannah Jorgensen had the sprint events on lockdown with wins in the 100-meter dash in a time of 13.21 and 200-meter dash in a time of 27.09. Jorgensen used her speediness in the 4X100 and 4X200 relays, aiding her team to claim victory. In the 4X100, Jorgensen, Elizabeth Perkins, Madison Tunning, and Marasyn Wittrock won the event in a time of 53.37. The 4X200 relay team, composed of Jorgensen, Wittrock, Katelyn Aden, and Autumn Fortner, won the event in a time of 1:52.94. Carroll’s 4X400 relay team gave them their third relay win at the meet. Composed of Wittrock, Aden, Fortner, and Emily Puck, they won the event with a time of 4:24.78. Puck and Tunning also grabbed top two finishes in their individual events. Puck got second place in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:05.55 and Tunning got second in the 100 hurdles in a time of 17.45. The last two second place finishers for Carroll were Vanessa Ayala in the discus event with a best throw of 112-05 and the distance medley relay team, composed of Brenna Goins, Kennedy Thein, Averi Burke, and Marie Dea, who finished in a time of 4:34.00.
Hannah Thygesen of Audubon was able to get great times in her individual events. She won the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:02.03 and got second place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:27.52. Thygesen also aided the sprint medley team to a second-place finish, along with Makayla Schmidt, Abigail Zaiger, and Madison Stekcler, in a time of 1:54.90. Stefi Beisswenger continued to run well in the distance events, getting second place in the 3000-meter run in a time of 11:46.85.
South Central Calhoun wrapped up the meet with six top-three finishes. Keira Hammen won the shot-put event with a best throw of 38-09.50 and third in the discus with a throw of 104-01. Kylee Schliesman was able to nab a third-place finish in the long jump with a best jump of 15-01.75. Chloe Judisch set a new school record in the 800-meter run with her third-place finish in 2:27.98. The Titans’ shuttle hurdle team, made up of Olivia Toms, Emma Anderson, Claire Riat, and Norah Riedesel, grabbed a second-place finish in a time of 1:16.16. The distance medley team gave South Central Calhoun their second top-three relay finish. Toms, Schliesman, Judisch, and Brenna McAlister finished in third place with a time of 4:41.36.
IKM-Manning ended the meet with similar results, three top three relay finishes and two top three individual finishes. Emily Albertsen rounded out a strong 3000-meter run for area athletes with a third-place finish in a time of 12:01.73. Albertsen helped the 4X800 relay team win the event. Along with Bianca Cadwell, Emmie Ring, and Hannah McKinney, they finished in a time of 10:57.87. Emmie Ring was able to finish in third in the 400 hurdles event in a time of 1:16.97. She also was part of the shuttle hurdle team’s third place finish. Ring was joined by Abbagail Neiheisel, Amber Halbur, and Madelyn Snyder, who finished in a time of 1:18.08. IKM-Manning’s 4X200 relay team, composed of Halbur, Snyder, Neiheisel, and Cadwell, finished in third place with a time of 1:57.89.
Finally, East Sac rounded out their day with three individual top three finishes and one top three relay finish. Brooke Jergens was impressive in the short distance events, getting second place in the 200-meter dash in a time of 27.38 and third in the 100-meter dash in a time of 13.62. Meredith Brown finished the 400-meter hurdles in second place with a time of 1:16.28. The 4X100 team, composed of Hannah Pudenz, Brown, Carly Fischer, and Jergens, got third in the event with a time of 53.76.
