Kuemper trailed 1-0 at half but felt like they had controlled a good portion of the play in the 1st half. The Knights battled in the 2nd half, but little things kept them from being able to score and make stops as the Cyclones added a pair of goals in the 2nd half. Head Coach Russell Wintermote says the kids continue to play and work hard and he is confident they will continue to improve on the little things. Catherine Mayhall led Kuemper, taking four of their six shots on goal. Ashlynn Badding was solid in the net with 15 saves.
The loss drops Kuemper to 0-5 overall and 0-3 in the Hawkeye 10 Conference. The Knights host Lewis Central for their next match on April 18th.

The Raiders suffered their first loss of the season, losing at home 5-2. East Sac fell down early, allowing a goal four minutes into the match and another with nine minutes left in the half. The Raiders cut the deficit to 2-1 on a goal by Davanee Boger with seven minutes left in the half. They trailed 2-1 at half and felt they were right back in the match. The Wolverines struck quickly in the 2nd half, scoring near the four minute mark, taking a 3-1 lead. East Sac answered again when Kenna Meyer found Wilma Roneus for a goal with twenty-five minutes left. The Wolverines added a pair of goals in the last five minutes to end the scoring.
Wilma Roneus and Davanee Boger each scored goals for the Raiders while Kenna Meyer had an assist and Aleisha Thayer finished with 12 saves in goal.
The loss drops the Raiders to 1-1 overall. They host LoMa on Thursday.
