Brincks Exteriors Sports Report: Carroll and Kuemper Girls Soccer Fall on Monday

Carroll At Bondurant Farrar

Carroll headed on the road to Bondurant Farrar, who is ranked 11th in Class 2A. The Tigers fell 10-0 with the game ending at halftime. Jayden Kirsch was busy in the goal, finishing with 17 saves. Carroll had a few opportunities on the offensive end but weren’t able to capitalize. Emersyn Walsh had a pair of shots on goal and Sophia Polking added the Tigers third shot on goal. Carroll falls to 0-2 on the season and 0-1 in the Raccoon River Conference. They are on the road again Thursday, traveling to Greene County.

Atlantic At Kuemper

The Knights hosted Atlantic in their home opener on Monday, playing well but falling short as they slipped to 0-2 overall and 0-2 in the Hawkeye 10 Conference. Atlantic took the early lead with a goal at the 12:00 mark and led 1-0 at half. The Knights offense continues to work on their spacing and showed improvement from the season opener. A few struggles in the middle defensively left the Kuemper back defenders in a couple tough spots and Atlantic took advantage, scoring at the 20:00 mark of the second half. 

Catherine Mayhall led the offensive attack with 7 shots on goal, Kenya Prescott added 3 shots on goal. The Knights finished with 12 shots on goal. Ashlyn Badding had 8 saves in goal. 

The Knights will play Sioux City North at the Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson Tournament on Saturday.
