A tough scoring 2nd quarter put Carroll in a hole they weren’t able to climb out of, as the Tigers fall to the top seeded Mustangs in the Quarterfinals on Tuesday. Carroll trailed by one at the end of the 1st quarter but was outscored 17-6 in the 2nd quarter as Dallas Center-Grimes heated up from the outside. They kept the pressure on starting the 3rd quarter with another run from deep, forcing the Tigers to call a time out. Dallas Center-Grimes shot the ball well for the game, hitting 57.5% from the field, including 9-21 from three for 42.9%. Carroll connected on 36.2% of their shots but only made four shots from three, hitting 26.7% on 4 of 15 shooting. The Mustangs outscored Carroll 15-0 from three-point range in the 1st half, building a 30-18 lead. The Tigers had an advantage on the backboards coming into the game, but the Mustangs were sending 4 guys to the rim and won the rebounding battle 31-20.

Dallas Center-Grimes scored the first-five points of the game, building a 7-2 lead. Evan Hammer grabbed a long rebound, before finding Nick Macke cutting on the baseline to put the Tigers on the board. Carroll battled back, from down 7-2, Kaleb Booth found Evan Hammer in the lane, then Gus Collison hit a pair of free throws, making it 7-6. Booth gave Carroll their only lead with a bucket, making it 8-7. Dallas Center-Grimes answered, going up 9-8. A Caden Kock basket tied the game at 10. That would be the only tie in the game. Bo Huston hit a three, putting the Mustangs up 13-10 before Kaleb Booth scored near the end of the quarter as the Tigers trailed 13-12 after the 1st quarter. Caden Kock found Evan Hammer for a bucket early in the 2nd quarter and Carroll trailed 16-14. Dallas Center-Grimes went on a 7-0 run before Tanner Gotto scored, making it 23-16. A three from Bo Huston put the Mustangs up 10, Gotto scored again late in the half, pulling Carroll within 10 but the Mustangs scored just before the buzzer and led 30-18 at half.
Kaleb Booth found Evan Hammer near the rim early in the 3rd, pulling Carroll within 12 again, but Dallas Center-Grimes scored six straight and led 38-20. Jackson Jones got hot from deep for the Mustangs in the 3rd quarter, hitting three from deep, helping them keep the lead around 20. Tanner Gotto found Gus Collison for a three in the 3rd, the first of the game for Carroll, cutting the deficit to 17 but the Mustangs answered with a three on the other end. Dallas Center-Grimes led 51-29 heading to the 4th quarter. The lead grew to 28 in the 4th quarter before Carroll pulled within 21. Dallas Center-Grimes spread the floor and was able to get to lane and hit open layups as Carroll was trying to double and create turnovers. Everett Sampson wrapped up the scoring for Carroll, hitting a three from the baseline.
Kaleb Booth led the Tigers with 12 points and pair of assists. Tanner Gotto added 8 points and 3 rebounds. Nick Macke and Gus Collison each had 7 points.
The Tigers end their season 16-9.
