Carroll picked up their 11th win of the season, and 9th win in the Raccoon River Conference, holding off ADM to win in overtime. Carroll led by 11 with 6:00 left in the 4th quarter but ADM got hot, hitting 4-3’s to send the game to overtime. Carroll bounced back, holding ADM to 4 points in the overtime. Carroll used a big 2nd quarter to take the lead at half, 28-26. They outscored ADM by 5 in the 2nd, before appearing to take control in the 3rd quarter, holding ADM to 4 points, while scoring 10. Carroll led 38-30 going into the 4th quarter.
The overtime was slow for Carroll early but Kaleb Booth was able to hit 6 free throws to give them the lead. Then Carroll came up with a big stop on the final play to clinch the win. Carroll trailed 52-49 with 40 seconds left. Kaleb Booth made a pair of free throws to make it 52-51 with 14 seconds left. Carroll fouled on defense and ADM missed the free throw. Booth was fouled with 18 seconds left and hit both free throws to give Carroll a 53-52 lead. Carroll got the ball back, and Booth was fouled again, making both, making it 55-52. Carroll fouled on purpose with 1.6 seconds left. ADM hit the first one, missing the second. The rebound was knocked out of bounds and stayed with ADM. They inbounded at the rim but Nick Macke and Gus Collison were able to force a miss at the rim and Carroll picked up the win.
Nick Macke led Carroll with 16 points, making 5-3’s. Kaleb Booth added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Ethan Lengeling added 9 points and 5 rebounds while Evan Hammer finished with 8 points and 9 rebounds.
Carroll moves to 11-8 overall and 9-6 in the Raccoon River Conference. They host Gilbert on Saturday.

What a terrific game to open the playoffs on the boys side as the teams met for the third time this season. They split during the regular season with each team having won at home. The game featured nine lead changes and eight tie with the last lead change at 43-42 in favor of Glidden Ralston and the last tie was at 47 with 16 seconds remaining. Cale Klocke knocked down a pair of free throws to give Glidden Ralston a 2 point lead, then the Wildcats forced the Rockets into a tough shot from the left wing with the clock running down. Glidden Ralston forced the ball out of the hands of Joe Carey and got a hand in the face of Bradyn Smith. Smith’s shot came off the rim into the hands of Justin Stream but the horn sounded before he could get a shot off. Paton Churdan largest lead was 4 and the Wildcats largest lead in the game was 6.
Bradyn Smith knocked down a 3 to open the game for Paton Churdan as they shot the ball well in the 1st half. They hit 5-3’s in the half, taking a 26-23 lead at half. Glidden Ralston did their damage in the lane in the 1st half as Ethan Olberding and Cale Klocke were able to get to the rim and Carter Soyer knocked down a runner and a three to keep them close. Paton Churdan outscored the Wildcats 15-9 from three in the 1st half but the Wildcats held a 21-15 lead on the boards. Ethan Olbering gave Glidden Ralston their first lead at 4-3 but Justin Stream hit 3, one of his two from deep to put Paton Churdan back up. Olberding found John Whitver later in the 1st quarter, putting Glidden Ralston up 11-8, but Paton Churdan scored 5 straight, highlighted by a Joe Carey three to give the Rockets a 13-11 lead. A Seth Thurman three kept the Rockets ahead 16-15 after the 1st quarter. Ethan Olberding kicked a pass to Cale Klocke early in the 2nd quarter, and his three tied the game at 18. Justin Stream answered with another three and Paton Churdan went back up 4 but Glidden Ralston stormed back. Glidden Ralston hit a three, pulling them within 1, before Ethan Olberding drained a three to put the Wildcats up 28-26 early in the 3rd. The game remained close, until Glidden Ralston went on a 8-0 run to lead 36-30 after buckets by Emmett Snyder and Cale Klocke. Paton Churdan cranked up the defense, creating some turnovers and pulled within 1 on a pair of Joe Carey free throws. Seth Thurman scored in the lane to put the Rockets up 40-39. They went up 42-29 but Emmett Snyder scored 4 straight to put the Wildcats up 43-42. Cale Klocke drained a huge 3 to put Glidden Ralston up 47-42 but Joe Carey answered with a three and the Rockets called a timeout. They came out and pressed, causing a turnover and Seth Thurman grabbed the loose ball and scored tying the game at 47. Klocke got the inbound pass for Glidden Ralston and was fouled. He hit both free throws setting up the Wildcats stop on the defensive end to seal the win. Paton Churdan had a stretch in the 4th quarter where they missed 5 straight shots at the rim.
Cale Klocke led Glidden Ralston with 17 points along with 5 rebounds. Ethan Olberding added 11 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Emmett Snyder had 6 points and 6 rebounds with a couple clutch shots late. Carter Soyer added 7 points and Caden Smith pulled down 6 rebounds.
Joe Carey paced Paton Churdan with 12 points and 5 rebounds. Justin Stream finished with 11 points and 4 rebounds. Shaydon Thurman added 8 points and 6 rebounds and Parker Fitzpatrick had 6 rebounds. Bradyn Smith had a terrific game on defense while scoring 6 points to go with 7 rebounds.
Glidden Ralston improves to 3-19 as they head to West Harrison on Monday. Paton Churdan ends the season 1-19.
