Carroll rallied in the 4th quarter, picking up a huge win, just before seedings for the post season are set. The Tigers trailed throughout most of the game, behind at the end of the 1st quarter, at halftime and down by four heading into the 4th quarter. The defense locked down the Monarchs in the 4th, holding them to 10 points. That was the best defensive quarter for the Tigers which led it to be the best offensive quarter for Carroll. Tanner Gotto came up clutch late with a big three tying the game at 51. After Denison Schleswig missed a pair of free throws, Gotto attacked the rim and scored a layup to put the Tigers up 53-51. Carroll missed the front end of three- one and ones but were able to get an offense rebound. Denison Schleswig tied the game at 53, but Kaleb Booth drained a three, putting Carroll ahead for good at 56-53. The defense came up with some stops down the stretch.

Kaleb Booth led the Tiger attack with 23 points and 5 assists. Nick Macke and Tanner Gotto also scored in double figures with both players scoring 13. Evan Hammer had a nice game inside with 7 rebounds.

The Tigers improved to 9-8 overall. They host Carlisle on Tuesday.

The Titans trailed by three with three minutes left in the game. Spencer hit free throws down the stretch and the Titans weren’t able to finish enough trips on the other end as the Tigers stretched the lead to win their 13th game of the season. The loss snapped the Titans two game winning streak and was the third loss for South Central Calhoun in their last six games. South Central Calhoun shot 42.9% from the field, connecting on twenty one shot attempts, but they only made 3-19 from three. Nearly half their shots came from outside the arc and they only attempted seven free throws, making five.

The Titans fell down early, with a slow start on offense, putting them behind 21-13 heading into the 2nd quarter. The deficit grew to 10 at half, down 31-21. They best quarter came in the 4th, when they came out with a quick spurt, pulling them within three. Spencer found and answer and ended up outscoring the Titans in every quarter but the 4th where they both scored 16 points.

Joshua Dietrich led the Titans with 21 points, hitting 9-13 from the field. He added 7 rebounds. Eli Wheelock added 14 points and 5 steals. Nobody else scored more than 6 points. Antonio Sanders ended the game with 7 rebounds.

The Titans host East Sac on Tuesday on KIKD 106.7.
