Carroll picked up a huge win on the road, pulling within a win of first place in the Raccoon River Conference as they begin the second time through the conference schedule. Carroll controlled most of the game, only trailing once at 20-17. The Tigers got a great defensive effort from Caden Kock and the usual clutch shots from Kaleb Booth, helping them build a fourteen point 2nd half lead. They were clutch from the free throw line finishing 14-18 with Booth going 10-11, hitting hit last eight.
The game had four ties early as two, four, six and eight. Caden Kock helped set the tempo finding Nick Macke on a nice baseline cut to put Carroll up 2-0, after a Comet basket Ethan Lengeling scored to put Carroll up 4-2. North Polk tied the game again before Kaleb Booth and Ethan Lengeling found Evan Hammer for back-to-back baskets. A Nick Macke bucket put Carroll up 10-8 and Kaleb Booth added a pair of free throws as Carroll built a 12-8 lead that grew to 15-10 on a three from Booth off a Lengeling pass. Carroll led 17-13 when North Polk went on a 7-0 run to grab their only lead at 20-17. Kaleb Booth took over on offense, scoring ten straight Carroll points, putting the Tigers ahead 27-21. Caden Kock extended it to 29-21 and Tanner Gotto scored at the 1st half buzzer and Carroll led 31-21 at half.
A Caden Kock 4-0 spurt in the 3rd extended the Tigers lead to 38-24. Carroll started to pull away as Evan Hammer put them up 40-29 and Caden Kock found Nick Macke for a basket making it 42-29. Both teams hit a dry spell the rest of the 3rd quarter and Carroll led 43-34 at the end of the 3rd after a Jevin Sullivan basket. That ignited Sullivan who had struggled most of the game, thanks to a great defensive effort from Caden Kock. Sullivan helped pull North Polk within 44-41 in the 4th quarter but Kaleb Booth took over again for Carroll. Booth hit eight free throws down the stretch, including an and one and Carroll extended the lead back to 10 at 56-46.
Kaleb Booth led the Tigers with 25 points, Nick Macke added 12 points and Caden Kock had 7 points. Ethan Lengeling scored 4 points but took 3 charges.
