Des Moines Christian At Kuemper
Des Moines Christian 49
Kuemper 34
Kuemper played their third game in the last four days and battled back from down 18 in the 4th quarter, cutting the deficit to 11 but the rally fell short as the Knights struggled to get shots to fall consistency. The loss is the sixth straight for the Knights, dropping their record to 3-10 overall.
Kuemper executed their offense pretty well most of the game, getting good looks but weren’t able to capitalize. That allowed Des Moines Christian to build a lead by attacking Kuemper at the high post and with midrange jumpers early in the game. The Knights were able to make adjustments, taking that look away but were down 25-15 at half.
Des Moines Christian extended the lead out of the half and led by 18 heading into the 4th quarter. Kuemper responded with Catherine Mayhall hitting a three to make it an 11 point game with under five minutes remaining. Des Moines Christian answered with a three and Kuemper couldn’t pull any closer.
Catherine Mayhall paced Kuemper with 13 points along with 7 rebounds. Aubrey Hueton finished with 12 points, Akuet Malek added 7 rebounds and 8 blocks and Frannie Glynn pulled down 7 rebounds.
The Knights travel to Glenwood on Friday.
