Carroll At Jack Mendenhall At Ames
Carroll put together a solid day at a deep and talented tournament. Six of the ten boys that wrestled placed with five of the six, finishing in the top 5. The boys finished the meet 18-21 in matches wrestled with seven wins by fall. three tech falls and a major decision. The girls had two girls compete with both placing in the top 5. They combined to go 5-4 with four of the five wins by fall.
Dreylen Schweitzer finished 3rd at 106 pounds, going 3-1, with a win by fall and two by decision. Cael Nelson was 7th at 120, winning his last two matches by fall to finish 2-2. Cooper Ludwig took 5th at 132, finishing 3-2 with a win by fall, tech fall and decision. Carter Drake was 4th at 138, he finished 3-2 with a tech fall, major decision and a decision. Jireh Gallegos added another 4th place finish for Carroll at 145. Gallegos was 3-2 with two wins by decision and a tech fall. Sterling Rodman was the final Tiger to place, taking 5th at 160. Rodman went 2-2 with a win by fall and a decision. Elsie Dirkx took 2nd for the girls, going 4-1 with three of her wins by fall and a win by decision. She fell in the 1st place match to Alexis Winkey of Ames. Siena Argarin went 1-3 with her win by fall. Argarin finished 4th.

Kuemper At Tri Center
Kuemper had a terrific day at Tri Center, finishing in 3rd place overall, edging a Missouri Valley team they will see at their own tournament later this season and team they will see in the post season. The Knights had eight of ten wrestlers place with one champion, two 2nd place finishes and two more finish in 3rd place. Kuemper went 20-14 in matches wrestled with 10 wins by fall and two wins by tech falls.
Cal Wanninger won Kuemper a championship at 220. He went 4-0 with three wins by fall and a 3-2 win in the championship match. Riley Parkis went 2-1 at 113 with a win by fall and a decision, finishing in 3rd place. Jake Hausman was 4th overall, going 2-2 with both wins by fall at 120. Jake Irlbeck took 3rd at 145, going 2-1 with wins by fall and decision. Shae Parkis was 2nd at 152, he finished 3-1 with two wins by tech fall and the other by fall. Hayden Stout took 2nd at 160 going 3-1 with two decisions and a fall. Bryce Wiskus went 202 at 170, for 4th place with both wins by decision. South Central Calhoun At Coon Rapids Bayard- Crusader Invite
South Central Calhoun picked up six individual championships and a 2nd place finish as a team. The Titans were edged by Bedford/Lenox 460 to 456 in the team race. South Central Calhoun went 36-31 in matches wrestled, picking up 28 wins by fall and a tech fall. Coon Rapids Bayard had two wrestlers compete on Saturday. They finished with 38 points for a 6th place finish. The two guys combined to go 0-6 on the day, finishing in 5th and 3rd place.
Case Korleski was the champion at 113, going 3-0 with all three wins by fall. Brock Natress finished 2nd at 132, finishing 3-1 with two win by fall and a decision. Zachary Trott won the title at 138, finishing 5-0 with threw wins by fall and a decision. Kevin King won his 150 match of his career as part of a championship day at 160.
