Carroll dropped their second straight game and third in a row in the Raccoon River Conference as Ballard scored the first 21 points, leading 15-0 after the 1st quarter and 29-5 at half. Katelyn Aden picked up the first points for Carroll, hitting a pair of free throws with 5;14 left in the 2nd quarter. That put the Tigers on the board, as they trailed 21-2. Addison Klocke hit a free throw a moment later and Carroll was down 21-3. Klocke scored Carroll’s first basket of the game with around :05 left in the half. Carroll struggled with the physical nature of Ballard’s defense but settled better in the 2nd half. Hannah Jorgensen hit a three in 3rd quarter and added a bucket on a nifty pass from Camryn Schable later in the 3rd, cutting the deficit to 42-15. The Tigers didn’t play bad defensively, holding the Bombers to 39.3% from the field and 5-25 from the three point range. Ballard got a number of easy shots off 23 steals.
Hannah Jorgensen paced the Tigers with 7 points and a pair of steals. Katelyn Aden and Addison Klocke each had 4 points. Klocke added 5 rebounds. Josie Ayala led the Tigers with 6 rebounds.
Carroll falls to 4-3 overall and 1-3 in the Raccoon River Conference. They head to Bondurant Farrar on Tuesday. The Blue Jays are 5-2 and 3-2.

East Sac had a win slip through their fingertips as the Titans rallied in the 4th quarter, dropping the Raiders to 1-6 overall and 0-3 in the Twin Lakes Conference. The Raiders held the lead at the end of each of the first-three quarters and were up 34-30 heading into the final stanza. They shot 36.4% from the field and knocked down 9 three point shots but went cold in the 4th quarter, scoring 7 points. The Raiders shared the ball well, finishing with 14 assists on 16 made baskets. Their 16 turnovers kept them from extending the lead.
Three players finished with 9 nine points with Jen Aschinger, Mary Bontrager and Carly Fischer. Fischer had a solid all-around game, adding 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Aschinger pulled down 5 rebounds.
East Sac wraps up the first half of the season by hosting SE Valley on Tuesday. The Jaguars are 3-4 overall and 1-2 in the Twin Lakes Conference.

South Central Calhoun suffered their first loss of the season a the E-Hawks hit a shot with :09 left to take the lead. The Titans had two opportunities to win it late but weren’t able to convert a layup and were called for traveling on a buzzer beater. They led the game after each of the first-three quarters but scored just 3 points in the 4th quarter, opening the door for Emmetsburg. The Titans struggled with the E-Hawks defensive game plan, shooting 33.3% from the field and 3-11 from three. They attempted just 10 free throws, making 5. South Central Calhoun turned the ball over 15 times but had 12 steals as they played well on defense. They held the E-Hawks in single digits in three of the four quarters.
Riley Batta had a team high 16 points along with 7 rebounds. Sayer Steig added 7 rebounds, Kylee Schleisman finished with a team high 4 assists and tied with Addisyn Korleski with a team high 3 steals.
South Central Calhoun falls to 7-1 overall and 4-1 in the Twin Lakes Conference. They host MVAOCOU (6-1) on Tuesday to wrap up the prebreak schedule.

Brynn Bass and Breeley Clayburg were forces for the Crusaders as they pulled away early from Ar-We-Va on their way to their second win of the season. The Rockets, who played on Monday struggled to score again and were down 30-9 at half. Coon Rapids Bayard scored in double figures in the first-three quarters and led 50-16 after the 3rd quarter. Both teams scored 2 points with the continuous clock in the 4th quarter.
Brynn Bass surpassed 700 career points on the night finishing with 24 point and 3 assists. Breeley Clayburg added 14 points and 13 rebounds and Lydia Hofbauer put together her best floor game of the season with 6 rebounds, 7 steals and 4 assists.
Maggie Ragaller led the Rockets in the loss with 10 points. Timberlen Koch had a team high 4 rebounds and tied with Ragaller for the team lead in steals with 2.
The win moves Coon Rapids Bayard to 2-3 overall and 2-2 in the Rolling Valley Conference. Ar-We-Va falls to 0-6 overall and 0-5 in the Rolling Valley Conference. Coon Rapids Bayard doesn’t play again before the break. The Rockets host West Harrison on Tuesday. The Hawkeyes are 1-6 overall and 1-4 in the Rolling Valley.

Glidden Ralston grabbed their second straight win, improving to 3-2 overall and 2-1 in the Rolling Valley Conference. The Wildcats wasted little time taking control of the game, leading 22-6 after the 1st quarter. They had 26 steals, leading to plenty of easy offensive opportunities and did a nice job transitioning from defense to offense. The Wildcats held West Harrison to single digits in all four quarters. They allowed just 3 points in the 2nd half.
Tiela Janssen had a team high 21 points to go with 6 assists and 5 steals. Paige Klocke added 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Wildcats. Vanessa Koehler continues to be a terrific defensive player, leading Glidden Ralston with 7 steals to go with 10 points and 5 rebounds. Summer Toms finished with 6 steals. Elizabeth Lloyd had 6 rebounds and Macy Snyder added 5 rebounds.
The Wildcats wrap up their prebreak schedule with Woodbine at home on Tuesday. The Tigers are 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the Rolling Valley Conference.

Audubon three game win streak came to an end on the road on Friday as the Wheelers fell to 5-2 overall and 2-1 in the Western Iowa Conference. The Wheelers hung tough in the 1st half, trailing by 4 at half. They were within striking distance heading into the 4th quarter but Underwood pulled away outscoring the Wheelers 24-5 in the 4th. Audubon was only able to muster 11 points in the 2nd half.
Aleah Hermansen scored 18 points for the Wheelers and was their only player in double figures. Jaci Christensen and Audrey Jensen both had 6 points.
The Wheelers close out their December schedule with a home game against LoMa on Tuesday. The Panthers are 5-2 overall and 2-2 in the Western Iowa Conference.

The Wolves slipped to 1-5 overall and 1-3 in the Western Iowa Conference, dropping a game on the road to Treynor, who improved to 8-1 overall and 5-0 in the Western Iowa Conference. The Wolves haves dropped 4 straight. The Wolves didn’t score in double figures in any quarter while the Cardinals scored over 20 points in both the 2nd and 3rd quarters. The Wolves trailed 15-8 after the 1st quarter and were down 36-15 at half. IKM-Manning scored 15 points in each half.
Mabel Langel paced the Wolves with 10 points while Macie Doyel added 9 points and Bianca Cadwell finished with 6 points.
The Wolves have two games remaining before break. They head to LoMa (5-2, 2-2) on Monday and close out the schedule with a home game on Tuesday against Missouri Valley.
