Kuemper has won two games in a row as they were able to squeeze past Atlantic on Tuesday night.
In the first quarter, Kuemper and Atlantic were both neck and neck, but it was the Knights who held on to a close 11-8 lead going into the second quarter. Atlantic dominated the second quarter as the Trojans went 20-14 and took the lead at 28-25 at halftime. The Knights had plenty of big-time scorers in this game, including Dawson Gifford who led the team with 15 points, Isaac Evans who added 12 points and eight rebounds to the Knight’s total, and Dennis Vonnahme who had 10 points and four rebounds.
Kuemper took back the momentum to start off the second half, outscoring the Trojans 23-18 and taking back the lead at 48-46 heading into the final eight minutes of the game. A long back and forth game was determined in the last moments of the game as Kuemper and Atlantic had yet another close scoring quarter in the fourth. The Knights were able to find ways to score and score often and barely edged out the Trojans 19-18 in the fourth quarter to take home the 67-64 victory. The Knights improve to 2-4 overall on the season as they set their sights on Greene County on Saturday, December 18th on the road.

Carroll was tied with Winterset in the second quarter, but the Huskies used a lengthy scoring run to take a win away from the Tigers Tuesday night.
In the opening quarter of the game, the Huskies and Tigers had a close quarter that included Caden Kock leading the team with six points. But the Huskies were able to lead 18-11 going into the second quarter. As mentioned before, the Tigers and Huskies at one point in the second quarter were tied at 21 apiece; that tie was broken by Winterset who went on a 12-4 scoring run to eventually lead 33-25 at halftime. Kock had a massive scoring night as he recorded 20 points and six rebounds for the Tigers.
The Huskies continued their scoring efforts into the third quarter and took over the contest. The Tigers had moments where they could have kept it close with Winterset, but the Huskies closed out the quarter going 16-7 and leading 49-32 going into the final quarter of play. Going into the fourth quarter, the Huskies had outscored the Tigers 28-11 since that 21-21 tie in the second quarter. Both teams had a big scoring fourth quarter as the Tigers and Huskies got up to 20 points scored. Ultimately, it was Winterset who once again outpaced the Tigers 26-20 and came away with a 75-52 victory over Carroll.
The Tigers will fall to 3-2 overall on the season. Carroll will close out their week of competition with a home game against Ballard on Friday, December 17th.

Glidden Ralston held off a furious rally from Paton Churdan in the 4th and held on for their second win of the season while the Rockets took some positives away but are still searching for their first win of the season. The Wildcats gained control of the game early by pounding the ball inside to Caden Smith. They never trailed and were only tied at 2-2 after Joe Carey scored, tying the game early. Glidden Ralston appeared in the 3rd quarter to put the game away, leading 46-22. Paton Churdan closed the quarter with an 11-2 run to pull within 48-33. Joe Carey heated up in the 4th knocking down four-three pointers and the Rockets pulled within four at 57-53. The Wildcats struggled from the free throw line, but Cale Klocke stepped up late and hit three free throws down the stretch. The first moved the lead to five, the final two stretched it back to seven.
Cale Klocke was outstanding early, finding Caden Smith down low as Glidden Ralston built a 6-2 lead. Carter Soyer hit a three, stretching the Wildcats lead to 15-6. Caden Smith was controlling the game inside, getting second and third chance points. The Wildcats were up 15-7 after the 1st quarter. They built on the lead in the 2nd quarter as Ethan Olberding used his great speed to get to the rim and score and also got out on the break and was aggressive taking the ball to the hole. The Wildcats led by 17 at half.
The 2nd half started with a Cale Klocke three, putting Glidden Ralston up 38-18. They opened the 3rd with an 11-4 run and appeared to be cruising. Paton Churdan started to find success, getting the ball to Bradyn Smith at the free throw line and getting kick outs. Joe Carey hit a three, making it 48-33 to end the 3rd. That ignited his shooting touch and the team. Carey hit another three to start the 4th and the momentum began to swing. Glidden Ralston finished 10-28 from the free throw line and kept missing shots at the line, allowing the Rockets to continue to chip away. Carey hit his last three, making it 55-50. Glidden Ralston adjusted and began to face guard Carey, not allowing him to touch the ball. Ethan Olberding stretched the lead back to 7 with a short jump shot. Bradyn Smith cut it to 4 with a three from the top of the key. Cale Klocke had struggled from the line most of the game, but hit three of four in the final minutes, helping the Wildcats hold on for the win.
Ethan Olberding led the Wildcats with 24 points and 9 rebounds. Cale Klocke added 14 points, 7 assists and 7 steals. Caden Smith finished with 15 points and 14 rebounds and Tyler Brant pulled down 10 rebounds.
Joe Carey went off for Paton Churdan, scoring 27 points, Shaydon Thurman fouled out with 9 points and 12 rebounds. Bradyn Smith added 11 points and 3 assists.
The win improves Glidden Ralton to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in the Rolling Valley Conference. They will host West Harrison on Friday. Paton Churdan falls to 0-6 overall and 0-5 in the Rolling Valley. They host Woodbine Friday.

Audubon had a close game against Riverside late in Tuesday night’s game, where the Bulldogs came within 10 points of tying the Wheelers, but ultimately Audubon pulled away with the victory.
Audubon got out to an explosive start as Carson Bauer and Collin Bauer both drained three pointers, Carson grabbing two of them. Combined those three three-pointers along with strong performances from Jackson Deist with four points, and the Wheelers got up big at 19-8 going into the second quarter. Riverside had a better quarter against Audubon in the second, but the Wheelers still brought the heat. Carson and Collin Bauer were once again electric from behind the arc with Collin draining two three-pointers and Carson adding another one to his stat line. Audubon’s performance in the second quarter gave them the 35-18 lead at halftime.
The second half of play was a little rough for the Wheelers as the Bulldogs switched from a man-to-man look to a zone defense that pressured Audubon at the half-court line and forced turnovers. Riverside was able to win the low-scoring third quarter by a score of 8-7, but Audubon still held the lead at 42-26. Carson Bauer led the team in that quarter with three points, all coming from free throws. Riverside got on a lengthy scoring run to start the fourth quarter, and eventually cut down the Audubon lead to 50-40 late in the quarter. The Wheelers started to come alive thanks to Collin Bauer going four for six from the free throw line in that quarter, and Gavin Smith putting up five points. That late quarter push from Audubon was enough to keep them ahead and nab them the 58-43 win over Riverside.
Individually for the Wheelers, Collin Bauer ended the game with a team high 17 points, Carson Bauer wasn’t too far behind with 16 points, and Gavin Smith netted 13 points in total. The Wheelers improved to 2-3 overall on the season and will be in action next on Thursday, December 16th when they take on Boyer Valley on the road.

It took all East Sac could to keep up with Pocahontas Area late in their game, but the Raiders were able to pull out a close five-point victory against the Indians Tuesday night to win their first game of the season.
The Raiders were playing right next to the Indians as both teams came out of the first quarter tied at 10 points each. The game stayed close even after the second quarter concluded as East Sac was able to grab the one-point lead at 21-20 going into halftime. Tyler Schmitt in the first half was electric as he recorded 19 of East Sac’s 21 points. Pocahontas Area in the third quarter was able to take over the game a bit and take over the lead at 35-34 over East Sac heading into the fourth quarter. It came down to East Sac needing a strong final eight minutes to pull out victory, and thankfully for them, that’s what happened. Schmitt led the Raiders through the fourth quarter as the Raiders took a one-point deficit and turned it into a five-point win at 50-45 over the Indians.
Other notable performances from East Sac include Tony Clair who had 10 points, two rebounds, and a steal and Caleb Eichorn with nine points, three assists, and three steals. The Raiders improve to 1-5 on the season. East Sac will close out their week of competition with a home game against GTRA on Friday, December 17th.

Ar-We-Va led by as much as six points with second remaining in regulation, but Woodbine was able to take the game into overtime and come away with the win.
The Tigers took control of the game in the first quarter, leading the Rockets 17-8 going into the second quarter. The Rockets bounced back in the second quarter with a strong 16-7 performance that allowed them to match Woodbine in points at 24-24 going into the halftime. Ar-We-Va had plenty of guys stepping up and making plays, including Cooper Kock who had a double double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, Will Ragaller and Conner Kirsch who both had eight points and seven rebounds, and Emmet Neumann who ended the game with six points and seven rebounds.
The third quarter was low scoring for both teams, but Woodbine was able to get the slight edge, outscoring the Rockets 6-1 and taking back the lead at 30-25. Ar-We-Va had another strong quarter in the fourth and led by six points with 35 seconds left, but Woodbine was able to match the Rockets in points in the end and took the game into overtime. In overtime, the Tigers and Rockets had as close a game as you can get, but ultimately, Woodbine was able to outperform the Rockets 8-5 in the overtime period to take home the close 46-43 victory.
Ar-We-Va will fall to 1-3 overall on the season as they look to Thursday, December 16th where they will take on Westwood at home.

Despite having two guys record double digit points, the Coon Rapids Bayard Crusaders fell Tuesday night to a tough Exira-EHK squad.
The Crusaders were able to keep the game close in the first half, only being down 18-15 after the first quarter and down 37-26 when halftime rolled around. Two Crusaders ended the game with double digit points, being Gabe Obert who led the team with 14 points and Tanner Oswald with 10 points. Lance Clayburg also gave some good support all around with nine points, eight rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
Exira-EHK and Coon Rapids Bayard both continued to go back and forth in the third quarter, but it was the Spartans who outscored the Crusaders 17-13 and extended their lead to 54-39. In the final eight minutes of the game, Exira-EHK was able to slow down the scoring of Coon Rapids Bayard down to single digits as they won the fourth quarter 14-7 and ultimately came away with the 68-46 victory over the Crusaders. Coon Rapids Bayard Head Coach Cory Meyer says the ability for Exira-EHK to make shots compared to his guys was the difference maker in this contest. The Crusaders fall to 2-3 overall on the season and 0-3 in the Rolling Valley Conference. Coon Rapids Bayard will close out their week of competition with a home game against Ar-We-Va on Friday, December 17th.
