Carroll rallied in the 2nd half to knock off the 14th ranked Tigers, improving to 3-0 on the season. They struggled on offense in the 1st quarter, partly due to foul trouble and missed opportunities. Carroll chipped away in the 2nd quarter, trailing by 4 at half. A 17-6 run spurred by Josie Ayala helped Carroll take control in the 3rd quarter. They grabbed a 36-29 lead with three minutes left in the 3rd.
Ava Hawthorne got into foul trouble for Gilbert in the 2nd quarter and Carroll took advantage. Josie Ayala picked up a pair of charges on defense and Hawthorne was called for her 4th in the 3rd quarter. That allowed Carroll to cut into the Gilbert lead and in the 2nd half it allowed Carroll to extend their lead once they got in front. Carroll outscored Gilbert 26-15 in the 3rd quarter and was able to foul Hawthorne out of the game with three minutes left, up 52-45.
Shay Sinnard had a game high for Carroll with 19 points, Josie Ayala added 12 points and was key in the 2nd half rally while Katelyn Aden did a nice job guarding Ava Hawthorne and finished with 10 points.
The Tigers host North Polk on Tuesday.

South Central Calhoun came out early, taking charge on both sides of the court, building a 17-4 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. Kylee Schleisman shot the ball well, Riley Batta had another solid all around game. Emma Anderson attacked the rim well and the defense only allowed the Raiders to score in double figures in the 4th quarter. East Sac struggled getting into their offensive sets early but settled in against the defensive pressure and played better in the 2nd quarter.

The Titans were up 17 at half but put the game out of reach holding East Sac scoreless in the 3rd quarter. Their lead grew to 48-12 by the end of the 3rd and Kylee Schleisman made four of the Titans five three pointers.
Riley Batta led the Tians and all scorers with 17 points, Kylee Schleisman added 16 points in the win. Batta also had a team high 8 rebounds. Emma Anderson finished with team highs with 4 assists and 3 steals. The Titans had 16 steals as a team.
Jen Aschinger paced the Raiders with 7 points off the bench, Mary Bontrager added 5 points. Meredith Brown and Kendall Quirk both had a team high 8 rebounds and Bontrager added 5 rebounds. Makenna Steiger led the Raiders with 4 assists.
South Central Calhoun is home on Monday to Manson NW Webster. East Sac will host OABCIG on Thursday.

Coon Rapids Bayard grabbed win number one on the season against Rolling Valley Conference foe Paton Churdan in convincing fashion.
The Crusaders started off with their foot on the gas pedal and never let down, starting off with a strong 17-9 lead in the first quarter. Brynn Bass lended a big hand in that quarter, scoring nine points. Paton Churdan had moments in the first quarter where they stayed in the game, led by Carmyn Paup who showed off her speed throughout the contest grabbing 11 rebounds. She was aided by Emma Stream who accounted for eight points of the Rockets’ score. In the second quarter, the Crusaders further extended their lead at halftime leading 33-12 with Bass adding another seven points to her total.
The second half firmly went to Coon Rapids Bayard as the Rockets couldn’t find the answers to the Crusader’s attack underneath the rim. Breeley Clayburg was a strong force in the paint for Coon Rapids Bayard, as she grabbed high passes and used her height to her advantage, compiling a 17 point, 17 rebound double-double. The Crusaders went 26-6 in the second half to take home the win over Paton Churdan and claim their first Rolling Valley Conference win of the season.
Both Paton Churdan and Coon Rapids Bayard will go up against CAM-Anita as their first games next week. The Crusaders travel to CAM-Anita on Monday, December 6th while the Rockets host the Cougars on Tuesday, December 7th.

Audubon came out sharp on Friday and won their second straight game to move to 2-0. The Wheelers led 22-5 at the end of the 1st quarter and built the lead to 24 by half. The defense didn’t allow the 0-3 Trojans to score in double figures in a quarter until the 2nd half, when the game had already been decided.
Aleah Hermansen led the Wheelers with 26 points and Jaci Christensen added 13 points. The Wheelers nearly had four players in double figures with Madison Steckler scoring 9 points and Audrey Jensen finishing with 8 points.
The Wheelers will host Treynor on Tuesday in a big early season conference matchup.

IKM-Manning nabbed their first win of the season, knocking off Riverside on the road. The Wolves rallied in the 3rd quarter after trailing by 3 at half. Their offense found a rhythm in the 3rd, outscoring Riverside 17-10. That put the Wolves up by 4 heading into the 4th quarter. They continued to find success inside with Bianca Cadwell and Mabel Langel who did a nice job getting to the free throw line. Macie Doyel took pressure off the inside game with a pair of three pointers. Morgan Hanson had a solid all-around game and the Wolves defense had 16 steals leading to some easier buckets. IKM-Manning had their second best defensive quarter to end the game helping them to hold off the Bulldogs.
Macie Doyle paced IKM-Manning with 12 points, Mabel Langel added 10 points, Tayler Ferneding and Bianca Cadwell each had 7 points and Morgan Hanson finished with 6 points. Hanson and Cadwell led the Wolves in rebounds, with both having 8. Mabel Langel led them with 5 steals, Macie Doyel finished with 4 steals and Morgan Hanson added 3 steals.
The Wolves will host Panorama on Saturday.

Ar-We-Va hung tough for early down 12-10 in the 1st quarter but the offense sputtered the rest of the game and CAM Anita pulled away for an easy win as they improved to 2-1 overall, dropping Ar-We-Va to 0-2. The Rockets struggled to get looks and when they did came up short after the 1st quarter. The Rockets went scoreless in the 2nd and 3rd quarters.
