Cale Klocke hit two free throws with 6.3 seconds left giving Glidden Ralston a 3 point lead. Carter Soyer hit a late free throw, putting Glidden Ralston up 4 with under a minute left and the Wildcats held on to beat West Central Valley 39-37 to improve to 1-1 on the season.  Glidden Ralston struggled in the 1st quarter but came on in the 2nd and 3rd quarter, hitting four-three point shots and getting and and one from Klocke. They built an eleven point lead in the 3rd but missed the front ends of a few one-and-ones and watched West Central Valley rally from down 34-25 to trail 36-33 with around a minute left.

West Central Valley jumped out early as Glidden Ralston struggled from the field in the 1st quarter. West Central Valley led 7-0 before the Wildcats scored midway through the quarter. A three by Cale Klocke cut a 10-3 end of the 1st quarter deficit to 10-6. That sparked Glidden Ralston and John Whitver scored to make it 10-10. Ethan Olberding drained a three and Glidden Ralston had their first lead at 13-10. After not scoring until the 3:17 mark in the 2nd quarter West Central Valley scored five of the next eight points but Glidden Ralston led 16-15 at half.

West Central Valley scored to open the 2nd half but Cale Klocke hit a three and then answered a West Central Valley with a bucket and a free throw. Ethan Olberding knocked down a three and John Whitver added a three, putting Glidden Ralston up 28-19. Glidden Ralston was up eight heading into the 4th quarter. A Carter Soyer three put the Wildcats up 32-21, their largest lead of the game. West Central Valley hit a  three, making it 34-28 and their rally began. Glidden Ralston missed three straight free throws, allowing West Central Valley to trim it to 36-33. Carter Soyer knocked down a free throw, extending the lead to 37-33. West Central Valley hit another three and trailed by one. Glidden Ralston got the ball to Cale Klocke after taking two shots in the final 30 seconds and Klocke knocked down both free throws to make it a 39-36 Wildcats lead with 6.3 second left. Glidden Ralston fouled West Central Valley with 2.3 seconds left. They missed the first free throw and made the second. Glidden Ralston was able to inbound and run the clock out.

Cale Klocke had a nice all-around game, leading Glidden Ralston with 14 points to go with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. Ethan Olberding and John Whitver both had 8 points. Caden Smith led the Wildcats with 9 rebounds, John Whitver added 6 rebounds. Ethan Olberding led Glidden Ralston with 6 assists.

The Wildcats head to Exira-EHK on Friday.
