Girls Cross Country Results for Monday, October 11th
Audubon and IKM-Manning at Western Iowa Conference Meet
Audubon and IKM-Manning both had runners finish in the top 15 and set personal records as both teams competed at the Western Iowa Conference cross country meet Monday afternoon.
Stephi Beisswenger for Audubon was able to set a new personal record with a time of 21:23. She tells Carroll Broadcasting that this course was tough at times due to the hills, but her teammates helped her get through the hardest parts of the course. Hannah Thygesen ran consistently well throughout the course and was able to finish in 12th place with a time of 22:07. Grace Slater was another Audubon runner to finish inside the top 25 with a 22nd place finish with a time of 23:31. As a team, the Wheelers captured third place with 73 points.
Despite not having enough runners for a team score, IKM-Manning had strong performances all around. Emily Albertsen was right behind Beisswenger as she recorded a fourth place finish with a time of 20:50. Albertsen tells Carroll Broadcasting this time was one of her best, if not her personal best, and she is excited to be running in her first year at the high school level. Reagan Garrison was clumped together with other runners, but was able to finish in 15th place with a final time of 22:36. The two other runners for IKM-Manning that competed were Kaitlyn Spoelstra who finished with a time of 25:56, and McKenna Mullen who completed the course with a time of 30:53. No team score was recorded for IKM-Manning due to them only having four runners competing.
IKM-Manning will compete at Missouri Valley on Saturday, October 16th. Audubon will travel to Mount Ayr to compete in the Ron Landphair Invitational on Thursday, October 14th.

South Central Calhoun and East Sac at OA-BCIG
South Central Calhoun and East Sac competed on a mostly sunny afternoon at the Bob Saunders Invitational at OA-BCIG where both teams performed well.
South Central Calhoun had three runners who finished inside the top 50 and one that was just outside that range. Breanna Patterson had a strong performance as she completed the course in 13th place with a final time of 22:26.12. Alexia Nelson found her groove and kept her pace to finish in 27th place with a time of 23:40.94. Adlen Wheelock was the final Titan runner to finish inside the top 50 as she recorded a time of 24:51.63, good for 38th overall. Samantha Potts was around a minute behind Wheelock and was able to lock up a 56th place finish with a time of 25:49.80. South Central Calhoun finished 8th in the team standings with a score of 200.
East Sac’s Emma Schroeder ran the best time among the area girls at this meet, finishing just ahead of Patterson in 12th with a final time of 22:22.96. Kortni Thomsen was able to keep her pace and finish in 44th place with a time of 25:02.61. Finally, Amalie Kroyer was not too far behind Thomsen, capturing a 48th place finish with a time of 25:14.78. As a team, East Sac secured an 11th place finish with 311 points.
South Central Calhoun and East Sac are both in action next on Saturday, October 16th where they will compete at the Twin Lakes Conference cross country meet.
